Baby Haguewood – 30 Weeks

30 Weeks - Website

***Had to change my chalkboard location because we finally set up the dresser which got in the way of my clean empty wall which was fantastic for taking belly photos…

How far along? 30 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +20lbs.

Maternity clothes? YES

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Charlie horses and little Baby kicks are getting the best of me this week.  I’ve been eating bananas like its going out of style AND drinking a ton of water…both of which are making a dent and helping with the sleep.  Potassium, water, and stretching are all supposed to help with the cramps.

Best moment this week: Knowing I have the BIG Bridal Show this weekend immediately followed by my BABY SHOWER! I’m getting so excited to see everyone and to celebrate our little bundle of love.

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: I haven’t been sleeping at all this week. Such a bummer, but i’m rallying and trying to make the best of it.

Miss Anything? SLEEPING…any amount of uninterrupted sleep sounds great at this point.  I know this is going to be my reality moving forward.

Movement: ALL THE TIME! The baby does full on somersaults and has some strong legs for kicking in my tummy.

Food cravings: The most random thing ever…Bagels and Cream Cheese.  I don’t often eat these but lately i’ve been craving them like no other!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Symptoms: Light Headedness, Leg Cramps, Bad Sleep, Vivid Dreams, and trouble bending and moving in general.  The belly is officially getting big and it is therefore hard to get around 80% of the time.  I really do love every minute of it though 🙂

Have you started to show yet: YEP

Gender prediction: BOY!!! I’m getting really impatient and can’t wait to meet my little gummy bear! Everything is starting to feel very real…

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY and tired…

Looking forward to: We are having our carpets cleaned WOO HOO and my Baby Shower is this weekend!!! We have a few little touch ups to do in the nursery and then we can finally start setting things up.

xoxo Friends,

Happy New Year & My 28th Birthday

HELLO 2016!!!

I can’t believe we are already well into January and 2016 already! With our sweet little gummy bear arriving in a few short weeks my To Do List is longer than ever BUT I am making progress and checking things off the list. Woo Hoo. So far 2016 has been AMAZING for our family!

I know 2016 is going to bring quite a bit of change for our family and therefore my “One-and-Only” New Years Resolution this year is “To have a Year of NO EXPECTATIONS!” My life is about to change is ways that I can’t even imagine. I am still struggling a bit to wrap my head around the fact that we are having a BABY! I don’t know what that is going to feel like and instead of building up the whole experience and setting myself up for failure by trying to be “the perfect mother HAHA,” I am just going to roll with it and take every moment and experience on a day-to-day basis.

This is not to say that I am NOT doing my best to prepare in every way possible, but when it comes to actually being a parent I have some general guidelines that I would like to follow but not much else.  I know for the first few months the baby is going to be just that…a baby…and they sort of set the tone for how the hours and days will pass.  We have some ideas for how we would like our Labor and Delivery to go, in a “general” sense and we are planning on breastfeeding and doing some sleep training techniques with the baby.  But I know several moms that have tried to control the outcome of these things and ended up being extremely disappointed in the whole experience of having a newborn for the first few weeks.  I know it is going to be hard and exhausting but I really want to look back on the first few weeks and let it be whatever it is meant to be.  Therefore NO EXPECTATIONS…within reason of course… for this Mommy-To-Be.

On a completely different note the last day of 2015 was SPECTACULAR!!! We celebrated New Years Eve and my 28th Birthday and everything about the whole day was perfect! We woke up to a gorgeous and frosty morning.  The fog was thick and the sunshine was peaking through the houses! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!! The perfect start to the morning.

IMG_1310

My sweet husband made me my favorite breakfast complete with coffee and roses! It was so special and thoughtful.

IMG_1312

We had lunch with my Mom and Step-Dad which was so special and took our puppies out to the river to run wild and play. It was exactly how I wanted to spend my day…surrounded by my favorite people and fur babies! The snow was gorgeous and the sun was bright. It was freakin’ freezing but we had a blast and it was so much FUN!!!!

IMG_1320

We watched the sunset over the snow and then headed out to do some Birthday shopping for ME!!!! Because D-Day (delivery day) is right around the corner I really wanted to get some basics that I know probably won’t be high on my priority list in the coming months. So on my list this year…my super expensive and amazing face wash and moisturizer.  I still need to keep up appearances post-baby. I refuse to be one of those moms who “lets herself go” once the baby arrives.  But again, no expectations, so i’m gonna just roll with it and see what happens.  But my general goal is to still feel somewhat put together on a regular basis.  I was also completely spoiled with my favorite Juicy Couture Perfume, a gorgeous Kate Spade watch which i’m just drooling over, and the best ever MamaRoo Rocker & Bouncer with an Infant Insert.  I am so excited to start busting out the baby goodies we got and figure out how they work.  YIPPPPEEEEEE!

Screen Shot 2016-01-13 at 8.59.08 AM

#1 – Kate Spade Watch     #2 – Kiehls Ultra Face Cream     #3 – Viva La Juicy Perfume

#4 – MamaRoo Infant Insert     #5 – Kiehls Ultra Face Wash     #6 – MamaRoo Rocker

Overall it was the perfect way to round out 2015 and ring in the New Year! I am so excited for all the blessings and challenges that 2016 will bring…I can’t wait to “feel” what being a mommy is going to be like! I definitely feel pregnant, but not really like a mommy! We ended 2015 curled in bed with our puppies and kitties, had a mini-Office marathon and were both asleep by 10:3oish.

And just like that, goodbye 2015, hello 2016, and time for everything “baby” related to kick into high gear for this mommy!

xo xo friends,

Baby Haguewood – 29 Weeks

29 Weeks - Website

HAPPY NEW YEAR & CHEERS TO 2016!

How far along? 29 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +19lbs.

Maternity clothes? YEP

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Awwww the dreaded pregnancy sleeping situation. Things are a little dodgy in this area at the moment.  I’ve been getting terrible leg cramps/charlie horses in my calves.  They are wicked uncomfortable and make getting a goodnight of sleep pretty much out of the question at this point. I’m up several times a night to stretch out my muscles.  I suppose God really is preparing me for motherhood…i’ve got the waking up every 2 hours thing down.

Best moment this week: Celebrating New Years EVE/ my 28th Birthday and realizing that our sweet Little Gummy Bear is going to be arriving “this year!!!!” We had the best day hanging out together with our puppies and enjoying the beautiful snowy weather.  It was the perfect Birthday and i’m already so excited to enjoy some Champagne next year!! Cheers to the New Year!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Realizing how much I have left to do before the baby comes in March…oh my goodness! I’m feeling “a little/ a lot” overwhelmed at the moment and am ready to get focused and start checking items off my To Do List.  Currently on the docket…Clean the Carpets, Setup the Nursery, Baby Shower, Maternity Photos and endless other smaller items and tasks to complete.

Miss Anything? I would have LOVED to go out on New Years Eve this year and enjoy some tasty cocktails.  As it happened…we were both tanked and were asleep by 10:30pm.

Movement: ALL THE TIME!!! Baby gets more active in the evening so daddy can finally feel all the sweet little baby kicks.

Food cravings: Nothing this week!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Random moments of morning sickness or a slight queasy feeling.  Mostly just sick of huffing and puffing around the house and work.  Lucky for me, I get to be super active at work and am on my feet most of the day power walking up a storm.  I think this has really helped with keeping the baby weight off as I certainly haven’t been doing a good job with my diet or workout plan.

Symptoms: Charlie Horses in my calves, rib pain, and general “uncomfortableness” when sitting.  I’ve actually really been enjoying the “busy” season at work because it feels so good to get up and move around.  Sitting and Sleeping are both really uncomfortable at this stage of my pregnancy!

Have you started to show yet: YEP

Gender prediction: BOY!!! But who really knows at this point.  The closer I get get to delivery…the more excited I become to learn what our sweet little baby is!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Labor Signs: Nada. Feeling super nervous/anxious lately about what Labor is going to feel like.

Belly Button in or out? Out and STRANGE LOOKING! Thats all I can say on this topic.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Absolutely ECSTATIC!!!

Looking forward to: Checking thing off my work and baby To Do Lists!

Baby Haguewood – 28 Weeks

Who is ready for a little Christmas 2015 flashback…because well…i’m just that far behind on my pregnancy posts. So Cheers to Christmas 2015…in January! Go figure…

28 Weeks - Website

“Tis the Season to be Preggers!!!!!”

28 Weeks Christmas - Website

MERRY CHRISTMAS

How far along? 28 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +18lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Struggling…but that might just be from all the fun Christmas excitement.  This time of year is so exciting and cheery!

Best moment this week: We got absolutely spoiled this Christmas and so did the baby! It was amazing and so much fun unwrapping all the goodies for the baby. I can’t wait for next year when we’ll have our little bear with us finally!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Realizing the holidays are almost over! Double edged sword for me…I love the holidays but am so ready to meet our little gummy bear! And i’m scared shitless at the same time. YIKES! So many emotions and hormones playing into this. HAHA.

Miss Anything? I really missed having some yummy mimosas on Christmas morning! I did make our traditional Christmas morning quiche but it didn’t feel the same this year…I am literally bouncing off the walls thinking about how much fun next year is going to be with the baby!

Movement: My belly is moving around so much.  I’ll watch it rolling and it looks just like Santa’s belly moving around like a bowl full of jelly! 🙂

Food cravings: Nothing this week but super excited for Christmas Cookie exchanges and all the yummy holiday treats!!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Symptoms: Not sure if baby is upside down or what the heck is going on in there but I keep feeling big jabs into my rib cage.  Sometimes it feels more like pressure coming up which makes me think it might be a little head or bottom and other times I know Baby H is kicking away right under my ribs.  If I completely open my torso up and give the little baby some extra room everything goes away.  The sensation cracks me up and makes me wonder what is GOING ON IN THERE! 🙂

Have you started to show yet: YEP

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding rings on or off? On

Looking forward to: New Years Eve, My Birthday, 2016 “Baby’s Birth Year”, and my Baby Shower which is in a few weeks! YIPPEEEEEEEE!

And to round out my Christmas Post here are a few photos from Christmas morning AND a photo of the Christmas Card design I did this year which was also the inspiration for my chalkboard this week.

2nd Trimester Favorites

BYE BYE 2nd Trimester!!!!

And that is officially a wrap on the 2nd Trimester for this pregnant mama! I can’t believe i’m almost at the end of my pregnancy and we are in the final stretch.  The countdown is on and my to do list is longer than ever.  Every time I cross something off the list, I think of two or three more things that need to be added. Thus is life and at this point i’m just rolling with “the pregnancy vibe” and trying to enjoy every minute before the baby comes and our lives change forever. It really is so easy to get carried away with all the “baby stuff” out there and lose sight of what is really essential or necessary! Here are a few items that have helped me survive the middle stretch of my pregnancy.  They really do call it the “Honeymoon Phase” and it has been glorious.  I get to enjoy being pregnant without being sick and i’m not that BIG yet.  Feeling Good and Feeling very very Happy and Optimistic.

2nd Trimester Favorites

#1 – Crane Humidifier     #2 – Foam Roller     #3 – 10 lb. Weights     #4 – Peach Sorbet

#5 – BKR Water Bottle     #6 – MinneTonka Slippers     #7 – Lime Perrier

#1 – White Crane Humidifier

This was on my First Trimester Favorites list as well. We use it almost every single night and have especially enjoyed it during these cold and dry winter months.  Growing up in the Northwest i’ve always been acclimated to the cold weather, the dry air, and the hard water.  These are all a wicked combination for dry skin and believe me, pregnancy already takes a huge toll on the skin.  While we’ve been dipping down into the chilly teens at night i’ve loved having this humidifier to help balance things out a bit.  Pregnancy hormones also make for a stuffy nose pretty much 24/7 and the extra moisture makes a huge difference.  I’m so glad we have this little machine and am planning on purchasing a second one for the baby’s nursery as well.

#2 – Foam Roller

This is a spill over from my short lived Crossfit days.  I loved stretching out my tight and sore muscles after a good workout and apparently the same can be said for pregnancy. Things, aka muscles, move on their own and things get out of alignment quickly from the growing belly.  I started going to the Chiropractor about once a month and my doctor was fantastic and taught me some great stretches/ techniques for a stiff back and for readjusting myself after a long day on my feet at work.  I made this part of my nightly ritual before bed and it really helps alleviate any pain before the stiffness sets in from sleeping on my side.  The joys of pregnancy friends! Every second is worth it though!

#3 – 10lb. Weights

These have been amazing for my half-assed attempts at staying in shape during this pregnancy.  I’ve done quite a bit of research on what exercises are safe and helpful during pregnancy and have tailored a morning routine that I try and do every single day.  Some days…i’m just not up for it and as i’m entering the 3rd Trimester my belly is growing larger by the minute.  It throws off my balance and even doing simple exercises can be difficult at times.  I know there are several woman out there who have just rocketed through their workouts while pregnant but i’m not one of them.  This routine has really worked for me though.  You can check it out on my Pinterest page HERE and be sure to check with your doctor before starting any exercise program especially while pregnant.

#4 – Haagen-Dazs Orchard Peach Sorbet

This is a little treat that has really helped my pregnancy. I’ve been addicted to this yummy treat for years but really try and stay away from it as much as possible. Every once in awhile though…this treat is THE BEST EVER!!!!

#5 – BKR Water Bottle

Staying hydrated during pregnancy is absolutely essential.  I am not going to get on my soapbox about this topic because the internet is covered in research that supports it.  All I can say is that drinking lots of water + a little extra has made a huge difference in how I feel on a day-to-day basis.  Find a cute water bottle that you won’t want to put down and chug away!!!

#6 – MinneTonka Brand Slippers

These were actually a gift from a coworker and I am so thankful for them! I have always been a die hard UGG Slipper fan and still love them to pieces, but these beauties are fantastic for keeping my feet cozy and warm while doing chores around the house. They are great for the cold winter months when our hard wood is super chilly on the feet.  And we have tile flooring in the kitchen and our house can get super drafty at times so the floors feel like icicles.  These are a great addition to any pregnant woman’s wardrobe.

 #7 – Lime Perrier

My recycling bin is overflowing with bottles and bottles from this pregnancy addiction.  Lime flavored Perrier quickly became my pregnancy go-to drink shortly after the 1st Trimester when morning sickness stopped.  I am a HUGE margarita fan and love the tartness and sour flavor of a yummy carbonated beverage with added lime. Given margaritas are out of the question for 9 months…this is as close as I could come to my favorite drink.  I drink tons and tons of regular water on top of this, which is probably why I am stuck using the bathroom all night long.

Some 2nd & 3rd Trimester Thoughts…

I now totally understand why they call the 2nd Trimester of pregnancy the “honeymoon” phase.  Everything was great for me, minus the passing out and lightheadedness that hit me often.  I am so excited to see what this next trimester will bring and at the end of the journey we’ll have a sweet little nugget in our arms.

I think the reality of my pregnancy is finally setting in.  The first few months I felt off, sick, and tired but I never really felt “pregnant” yet.  The 2nd Trimester was wonderful because my energy and appetite returned and I actually felt normal most of the time. The third trimester feels very intimidating to me because I know the end is coming and that means Labor & Delivery. HOLY CRAP.  The thought of the that literally scares the shit out of me.  I think once we take our birthing classes i’ll finally be able to wrap my head around the birth process and will be able to process my feelings.  I know this is a major part of pregnancy and I can absolutely tackle it…but i’m still terrified. HAHA.

Some Fun & Exciting things to look forward to in the 3rd Trimester…

The 3rd Trimester is full of excitement for us and i’m so pumped.  Everyone keeps telling me that it is going to fly by and our schedule is already packed which will make it all go by in the blink-of-an-eye.

First off, I am going into the busy season at work which is always exciting and exhausting.  The days fly by and every hour is packed with good friends/coworkers and the most wonderful brides.  I absolutely LOVE my job as a Bridal Consultant & Sales Manager and can’t imagine doing anything else. Next up, the hubby will be cramming all his business trips into the month of January so that he can be available should Baby H decide to make “his or her” appearance early.  We have my Baby Shower which will be hosted by my mommy…the best future grandma ever and a Maternity Photoshoot scheduled with a fantastic photographer.  Literally every weekend is packed with something new and fun and the days already feel like a whirlwind.

In February we have an Infant CPR Class and a 3-part Birth Class from our local hospital.  I’m nervous and excited for these.  The thought of “needing” to give CPR to my child is not something I want to even think about, BUT I am all about being prepared and knowledgeable instead of ignorant. The birthing classes are going to be essential and I can see us retaking them with each pregnancy in the future. I know absolutely nothing about the birth process and these classes will be so helpful and eye-opening for both of us prior to Baby H’s arrival.

We have a few more projects to wrap up in the nursery and then we are going to start unboxing all the “loot” that we have been stockpiling over the past few months.  I am really excited to see the transformation.  We did have the carpets cleaned and the hubby is going to do a little paint touch up, but really we have an “empty and clean” blank space to create a beautiful nursery in.

Nursery - Clean Slate

I go to bed every night a little anxious knowing that we have absolutely nothing set up yet…what if Baby comes early??? I have to remind myself that we have lots of time left and I can only control the things I can control and everything will work out the way its meant to. I am so excited to meet our little gummy bear so with each crazy weekend and fun event we are getting closer and closer to meeting out our little miracle child.

If your interested in checking out my 1st Trimester Favorites click HERE!

And with that i’ll close on the 2nd Trimester! Time for the big-girl/mommy panties and the final stretch of this pregnancy.

Hello 3rd Trimester!!!!

Baby Haguewood – 27 Weeks

27 Weeks - Website

How far along? 27 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +18lbs. The “lbs” are inching their way up on the scale.

Maternity clothes? YEP! Still only maternity bottoms but I have to be very thoughtful and selective about what style tops I wear.  The looser the better these days!

Stretch marks? Nope, keeping my fingers crossed as the belly gets bigger and bigger!

Sleep: I’m trying to soak up every moment that I can.  I know this won’t last forever.

Best moment this week: We went in for yet another checkup at the doctor only this time we learned baby looks perfect!!!! Baby still has a bright spot on the heart but the doctor assured us everything is looking good! I have been so happy and absolutely giddy all week long!!! BONUS…we had another ultrasound done and the 4D image captured showed our sweet little gummy bear officially looking like a baby!! I immediately fell in love with that sweet little face and profile and go to sleep every night just staring at it!!! I’m just so excited.

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Two words…Glucose Test! If you’ve been pregnant recently then you know what i’m talking about.  I went in feeling super optimistic about the whole thing.  The drink itself wasn’t too bad, but basically I had to ingest 6oz. of straight SUGAR that tasted like crappy flat orange soda.  That part wasn’t bad but the buzz and tummy ache after were not fun.  I felt sick, couldn’t let myself throw up even though my body was definitely telling me too, had to ingest the liquid on an empty stomach, and had some seriously intense stomach cramps during the whole thing.  PS…I also apparently had a sugar crash right before it was time to take my blood and passed out on the exam table with the nurse practitioner. Not sure if that is a bad thing and means I failed the test or what.  The results take a few days…

Miss Anything? I know Christmas parties and yummy cocktails are right around the corner…I’m already looking forward to next year where I can get my buzz on and enjoy the festivities again.

Movement: Felt some seriously BIG kicks this week.  Baby has decided to place both feet right under my rib cage and practice some kickboxing moves.  The sensation isn’t painful, just extremely uncomfortable and I’ve found myself leaning to my right to release the pressure on my ribs.

Food cravings: Nothing this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Symptoms: Baby H is still busy away pushing on my rib cage.  Sometimes I wonder if it is a head or a bottom that is wanting to get wedged up under there and make for an incredibly uncomfortable position.

Have you started to show yet: We attended a Zags game this week and the ticket lady asked me if I was hiding a basketball under my shirt…I think I can definitely answer YES to this question now!!!!

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? Strangely OUT…something weird is happening there! I had no idea that weird little things like this happen when your pregnant…but it does make sense! Apparently I have a herniated belly button…whatever the HELL that is.  It just looks funny to me! 🙂

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY…hubby might disagree though.

Looking forward to: Seeing the NEW Star Wars movie with the hubby and some friends on Friday!! Not the biggest fan in the world but i’m certainly married to one and therefore need to be very supportive! Also finally feeling super pregnant and I can’t wait to have my little gummy bear in my arms.  Seeing that beautiful little face in our ultrasound made everything feel real.

How far along? 25 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +17lbs.

Maternity clothes? Oh Yea, even my shirts aren’t really fitting anymore 🙁

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: After Black Friday weekend at work…i’m sleeping like a baby myself.

Best moment this week: We got Baby H’s nursery all stocked up! On the list…crib, rocking chair, dresser, nightstand, changing pad, poppy pillow, crib mattress, and tons of misc. items that are still necessary! I tried so hard to not overdo it and had so much fun shopping for baby. I’ve been so good up to this point and finally had a chance to buy some fun stuff  for my beautiful baby! Now the hardest part…waiting for all of Baby H’s goodies to arrive!!!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Realizing the damage I did on Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year…

Miss Anything?

Movement: I love feeling the baby kick!!!! It really is a wonderful part of pregnancy.  I know that I am going to miss it terribly when the baby comes!

Food cravings: Nothing this week but super excited for Christmas Cookie exchanges and all the yummy holiday treats!!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Symptoms: I thought it would be cool to start documenting my symptoms through the end of my pregnancy.  I know this might come in handy for my next couple of pregnancies. This week…rib pain.  My ribs get quite uncomfortable at the end of the day because my belly is usually full and baby wants to move around and kick after sleeping all day.

Have you started to show yet: YEP

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? Out

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY…so excited for the happiest time of the year!!!

Looking forward to: Christmas and wrapping up the 2nd Trimester of my pregnancy!

Baby Haguewood – Week 24

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL…AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT 🙂

24 Weeks - Website

How far along? 24 weeks…still behind and getting caught up.  Getting closer but with Christmas around the corner…I might get behind again.

Total weight gain/loss: +16lbs. I think all the BONUS Thanksgiving food officially did me in this week!

Maternity clothes? YEP!

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Wishing I could sleep on my back but I think I am so tired most days that I just crash no matter what!

Best moment this week: It is officially the start of the holiday season! I love Thanksgiving because it means Christmas is right around the corner! Now if only I could enjoy a Mimosa or five this holiday season… 🙁

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: That sick “I ate way too much at Thanksgiving dinner” feeling…only x10 because for some ODD REASON morning sickness decided to make an appearance again this week.  My body picked the most inconvenient week for my tummy to feel swirly and sick.

Miss Anything? I will definitely be missing our annual Mimosas and Muffins on Thanksgiving morning this year.  It is a tradition and my first year not participating…but I sure do have a sweet cuddly reason why I won’t be drinking!!!

Movement: Movement comes in waves and the baby seems to be more active on certain days then others. Its almost like he/she will be really active for a day or so and then just conk out and sleep for 3 days straight…it really is my child in there. I love my “bon bon” days!!!

Food cravings: Nothing this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Have you started to show yet: Yep

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? Out…weird! I literally do a double take every morning after climbing out of the shower!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY

Baby Haguewood – 23 Weeks

23 Weeks - Website

How far along? 23 weeks…got a little behind because of the wind storm and Thanksgiving AND then just life in general happened…

Total weight gain/loss: +15lbs.

Maternity clothes? YEP! Still only maternity bottoms but now my tops are getting a little snug.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Tried a full body pillow and wasn’t really a fan.  It took up way to much of the bed and I change positions a lot so I had to constantly readjust the whole pillow which was a major pain.  I threw it out of the bed ASAP.

Best moment this week: Surviving the crazy storm and moving to my parents house temporarily where I can get a HOT shower and a warm bed to sleep in!!! Its the little things in life…

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Have I mentioned the wind storm…we lost our fence and we had to take down our beautiful tree.  At least we are safe and on a positive note…no more pine needles in my front yard to contend with.

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my back. I know this is a NO NO in the pregnancy world and therefore is the only position that could possibly be comfortable for me.  I’m still adjusting to being a side sleeper.

Movement: Baby is very active these days! The movement comes in waves and is absolutely wonderful.  I can officially tell when the baby is awake, aka kicking and moving, or sleeping!!!

Food cravings: Nothing really.  My appetite seems to have leveled out SO in other words my lovely pregnancy hormones are leveling out as well.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!! Worked out all the icky “food poisoning” out of my system and I haven’t caught the cold that seems to be lingering around our house these days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes…big belly these days! Its so funny…but I love my pregnant belly so much and I think i’m going to miss it when its gone 🙁 We’ll see how I feel about it around 35 weeks…

Gender prediction: I think the gummy bear is a little BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY…and quite tired / winded

Looking forward to: Scoring some great baby deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday!!!

xoxo Friends,

Sleep: I have finally figured out my formula for great sleep.  I still wake up to use the bathroom all night long but other than that my sleep has been fantastic lately!

Best moment this week: Spending time with my husband’s family and of course all the golden girl dogs! We had an absolutely amazing time!!! I also slept a ton, was chill most days, and got to dress up for a date night with my husband! Major happiness all around these days!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: I got a touch of food poisoning while on vacation.  Luckily i’m feeling so much better!

Miss Anything? Curling up into a ball on the couch…the belly gets squeezed a bit.  But I can feel my little gummy bear kick all the time which makes all the uncomfortable positions bearable!

Movement: ALL THE TIME!!! Baby gets more active in the evening which is wonderful because I can finally relax and just feel the baby move.

Food cravings: Nothing this week. Strangely, i’ve not been super hungry at all. Nothing sounds good.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Have you started to show yet: I sure hope I look pregnant at this point.

No Power…Still Thankful & Grateful

Happy Thanksgiving Week friends.

Well…life has changed a bit for us and we are in survival mood over here on the West Coast.  We are currently going on day 7 of no power in our neighborhood after last weeks record breaking wind storm swept through our area.  It was an epic storm and our neighborhood had several trees down as well as some serious damage to homes and power lines.  My heart goes out to all the families who still don’t have power and lost their homes in this storm.  We will keep everyone in our prayers over the holiday season this year.

Day 1 was interesting and kind of exciting as we hunkered in our basement listening to the crazy wind blowing through our neighborhood.  The next morning we surveyed the damage and are still feeling incredibly grateful that we made it through safely and somewhat in one piece.  We lost our fence and our yard was a bit trashed…no biggie.

We gave it our best shot and worked extra hard to stay as warm and cozy as possible.  It is COLD here however, like dipping down past the 30’s kinda COLD at night.  We managed two nights at home with all our fur babies and finally made the decision to go stay with my parents. It was a great decision.  No power, no internet, and no heat had us huddled in front of our fireplace 90% of the day.

My amazing husband had the forethought to sweep our property very thoroughly and we discovered that our Big Beautiful Pine Tree had sustained some terrible damage during the storm.  I am so incredibly thankful that it didn’t come crashing down on our home. I was literally praying throughout the whole storm that our windows would stay intact and no trees came crashing though the roof. We were lucky.  We had an arborist come survey the damage and we learned that the tree needed to come down immediately.  We had a team on the property within 2 hours and said Goodbye to our stunning tree.  I was completely unaware at how serious the situation was and am thankful that it didn’t land on our house. We are sad to see it go and our landscape will need an overhaul, but above all else we are thankful for our continued safety.

We have a lot to be grateful for this year.  Our beautiful home is ok, we have a warm and cozy place to stay, our baby and family are safe, and we have faith that the power will get turned back on in the days ahead.  Our Thanksgiving plans are with extended family this year and i’ll be saying some extra prayers of gratitude and thanks for sure.  We are chalking this one up to yet another adventure for 2015.  I am hoping for a smoother lead up to Christmas however…now its time for some Black Friday Deals and Steals.

No pregnancy chalkboards for awhile but i’ll get caught up soon.  I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and will be heading out to an OB GYN appointment this afternoon.  So excited to hear baby’s heartbeat and get a quick check-up.

I hope everyone is recovering from the storm and staying warm!!!

Lovin’ the Fall Life

I am in Fall Heaven around here!!! Halloween was amazing, my belly is getting bigger, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means Black Friday aka Baby Nursery Shopping for us!!! I could not be happier or more excited!! I’ve got everything picked out and ready to go.  Just waiting for the deals and sales to start rolling in for Big Time Baby Savings!!! Let me start by saying that the hubby and I are not Black Friday Shoppers AT ALL!! Its not our thing one bit.  I love the idea of saving money but we are not the type to stand outside in the cold for hours to save $50.  However, we will be taking advantage of the savings this year with Black Friday Sales and also Cyber Monday Sales.  Here are some of the deals and steals that I can’t wait to get my hands on immediately after Thanksgiving.

Black Friday Wish List 2015

J. Hunt Lamp      Tufted Rocking Chair      Sophie the Giraffe Teether     Elephant Teether

Eddie Bauer Langley Crib      Honest Company Diapers       Summer Infant Baby Monitor

I also scored this amazing gather doormat for Thanksgiving/November at Target!!! I love it so much and it was on sale! Double score! I love a festive porch even if I am the only one who ever sees it.  I’m really hoping next year we can host Thanksgiving and Christmas! With having the baby, I want his or hers first holidays to be in our home.  So I see some party hosting in our future!!

gather doormat

We just returned from a trip to Seattle to visit my husbands family.  We had such a good time.  We celebrated his grandfather’s 85th birthday and danced the night away at a wedding for a family friend.  It was so nice to see everyone and relax for the whole week.  The golden girls were all together again and we snapped some adorable photos of them.  They always have a blast together along with the adults.  Plus I finally got to show off my pregnant belly…which is getting HUGE these days.  I’m so glad I finally look pregnant and not just fat.

And finally I have spent my last day of vacation putting up Christmas decorations, finalizing all the plans for our Black Friday / Cyber Monday Shopping haul, catching up on laundry from the trip, and cleaning the house.

It feels so good to be home and to have everything mapped out and ready to go.  This of course means I am almost officially ready for the holidays.  Time to get back into work mode and take the golden girls for a walk around the neighborhood!!! Until next time friends…

Baby Haguewood – 21 Weeks

21 Weeks - Website

How far along? 21 weeks 6 days…

Total weight gain/loss: +14lbs.

Maternity clothes? YEP!! Rocking the pregnant look for sure!!!

Stretch marks? Nada

Sleep: I had a couple of really uncomfortable nights this past week.  I’m only really comfortable sleeping on my back but now that we are past the 20 week mark the doctor says “back sleeping” is a NO GO! Apparently there is a major blood vessel called the vena cava that can get blocked from the pressure of the uterus when laying on the back.  Baby H and Mommy need to stay healthy and oxygenated for sure.  So, i’m adjusting to side sleeping.  Each week brings something new and different these days.

Best moment this week: I’ve been treasuring the little moments while being pregnant and my absolute favorite moment so far is something that i’ve been doing nightly.  I have a nightly ritual of going to bed a few minutes early and falling asleep with my hands on my belly.  I love closing my eyes and just imagining and feeling my sweet little baby moving around.  Its sounds goofy but everytime baby kicks my heart gives a leap.  Its impossible to not be happy when life is so wonderful and full of LOVE!!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: I caught the hubby’s cold from last week.  So for the 2nd time this Fall i’m officially sick.  I need to keep sleeping and drinking lots of water!!! My new humidifier is already paying for itself!!!

Miss Anything? Bending over without this huge belly getting in the way…and its not even that big yet!!!

Movement: ALL THE TIME!!! It is glorious and makes me so happy!

Food cravings: Weirdly…feta cheese.  I’ve been craving it so much and putting it on everything!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Have you started to show yet: Rocking the baby bump like its my job!

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In, but super shallow.  I thought this wouldn’t be effected by the pregnancy but it is super shallow.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY

Looking forward to: A little mini vacation with the hubby!!! So excited for some family time!!!!

Baby Haguewood – 20 Weeks

20 Weeks - Website

How far along? technically 21 Weeks…

Total weight gain/loss: +12lbs. Momma’s got a belly for sure and the pregnancy cheeks to prove it!!!

Maternity clothes? YEP!! Just maternity pants though. I can still get away with the flowy tops.

Stretch marks? Nada

Sleep: I started sleeping with pillows between my legs and under my back…it has made a world of difference!!! Finally sleeping great again with the exception that the hubby has a cold.

Best moment this week: We got to see our sweet baby moving around in my belly at our 20 week ultrasound.  It was so much fun to see the baby all curled up into a little ball making fists and stretching.  We aren’t finding out the gender of our sweet gummy bear.  When the ultrasound tech was “in the danger zone” we just turned our heads and locked eyes.  It was amazing to look into my husbands eyes and realize that in 20 more weeks we’ll finally be holding our sweet child in our arms.  I’m so excited!!!!!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Our doctor flagged one abnormality on our ultrasound that made for a few sleepless nights.  I’ve finally reconciled with the fact that when it comes to the miracle that is growing a human being, nothing is ever going to be perfect.  It is such a miracle to have a child at all and we will continue to pray for our little ones health!!!

Miss Anything? Honestly…this week…I miss having a normal functioning bladder.  I’m running to the little girls room about a million times a day and it all happens at night while i’m trying to get my beauty rest.

Movement: I feel Baby H’s sweet kicks all day long.  Maybe even a few somersault type moves.  Baby is either going to be a brake dancer or a gymnast! Go for it little one, you can be anything you want and Mommy loves you so much!!!!

Food cravings: Nothing this week!!! But Thanksgiving Dinner sounds bomb…bring on the Holiday Season!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Have you started to show yet: I’ve got a baby belly for days!

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: So Happy and in Love!!!

Looking forward to: The HOLIDAYS!!! Now that Halloween is over that means it is officially the most wonderful time of the year!!! I can’t wait for Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping, and of course Christmas!!! FaLaLaLa!!!!

I might have been watching Christmas movies all weekend AND rocking out to some Christmas tunes on Pandora.  Yes, I am that girl. I’ll leave you today with this picture of Little Baby Haguewood from our 20 week ultrasound!
