Easter Mini Style

Happy Easter Week friends!

We are bursting at the seams this week with pre-Easter activities and lots of Birthday celebrations.  My hubby is turning 30 and then we are kicking off our Easter weekend festivities! We have some festive breakfasts planned, Easter inspired toddler activities,  and of course Reagan needs to practice her Easter egg hunting.  The weather has been beautiful (and WARM). I feel like I need to whisper that because it legitimately SNOWED yesterday, and then today ended up being sunny and almost 60 degrees.  I’m terrified of jinxing this weekend and the bucket loads of gorgeous weather we want for our Easter festivities.

In the spirit of the Easter holiday I rounded up some beyond adorable Easter Sunday outfits for baby girl. I can’t wait for Miss Reagan to rock her Easter outfit.  Everything about these sweet styles are fresh for Spring and rosy pink for Easter.

Easter styles for baby

Gray Knit Bunny Hat   //   Hop Sweater   //   Chambray Bloomers   //  Pink Cardigan   //   Chambray Polka Dot Flutter Dress   //  Floral Print Dress   //   Sugar Plum Felt Flower Headband   //   Ballet Pink Felt Flower Headband   //   Pale Pink Flutter Top   //   White Denim Jeans   //   Silver Bunny Flats

The Easter Bunny has a little more shopping to do and some strategic egg stuffing needs to take place.  I refuse to buy a bunch of Easter candy because my pregnant ass would end up eating all of it.  So I need to come up with a few backup plans and get creative so we can have endless egg hunting fun this weekend.

For those of you who emailed me, Reagan’s First Birthday Dress is from Gap.com and is actually 40% OFF this week, just in time for Easter.  I intentionally bought her a bigger size because I really wanted her to be able to wear it this Spring.  I’m still daydreaming occasionally about what a special and fun little party we had. To read all the details, click HERE.

And for those that were wondering the knit bunny hat Miss Reagan was wearing in my Easter Basket Goodies Post was a newborn gift from a friend last year.  BUT, I did find a few similar styles HERE & HERE & HERE!

I hope everyone has an awesome week leading up to Easter! We are off to get our celebration on with endless birthday festivities!

And a very Happy Birthday to my sweet and 30 year-old hubby!!!!!! Reagan and I are two lucky ladies to have you in our lives.

Easter Basket Goodies

Holy cow its April! We’ve been so looking forward to Easter this year!!! Easter 2016 was Reagan’s first big holiday and my first chance to play the Easter Bunny.  Obviously it goes without saying, she had no freakin’ clue what was going on.  She was around 3 weeks old.  BUT this year is soooooo different and she is starting to get the hang of this holiday thing!!! She is on the verge of walking and that means we can officially have an egg hunt and i’m not sure my heart will handle the cuteness.

The days are long with a toddler, but they are going so quickly at the same time because i’m pregnant.  Baby prepping, spring cleaning, work, and trying to remain active have me fully extended. But i’m oh so happy!!! I wanted to get a head start on Reagan and Baby H’s Easter baskets and thought I would share our findings.  Finding relatively inexpensive, small, age appropriate gifts is tough and i’m not one to buy a bunch of crap!!! If we purchase something, WE USE IT!!!! And I want to get my money’s worth from that purchase. AKA, something Reagan needs and will use.

We have always gone easy on the toys and i’m not going to fill her basket with sweets.  She is a huge fan of her stuffed animals or  “Lovies,” and we seem to go through pacifiers like its going out of style.  I’m obsessed with this limited edition WubbaNub Cow pacifier.  A reusable pair of bunny ears is always a festive addition and will get used over the years. We love to read to Reagan and are always looking to build up her library.  Children’s books are the absolute best and I LOVE anything with a holiday theme.  Its fun to mix up and exchange books from her library based on the season or holiday.

Easter Basket Goodies

FOR BABY:     Jellycat Bashful Bunny Ring   //   WubbaNub Pacifier

FOR TODDLER:     Jellycat Bashful Bunny   //   Gold Bunny Ears   //   HoneySticks Beeswax Crayons

BOOKS:     The Golden Egg Book   //   Bunny Roo I Love You   //   The Country Bunny and the Gold Shoes   //   The Secret Garden

I am so excited for some new books and probably most looking forward to getting those crayons into Miss Reagan’s hands.  I did a ton of research on safe crayons for a one year old.  She is busy sticking everything in her mouth still and the HoneySticks are completely natural and the size is supposed to be great for new little artists. Pinterest says you can tape a piece of paper to the highchair and let them color away. We are going to give it a try and if it doesn’t go well, we’ll just wait another month or so and try again.

Last year I got her Easter Basket from World Market and I was so excited to learn that it is back again this year.  This means that Baby H #2 will get the same basket and they can match for future years. Little details like that are super important to me and I actually go out of my way to think of them.  The basket is the Mint Wire Farmhouse Basket and is also available in white and rustic metal. The mint was just calling to me last year and is the perfect Springy color.

Screen Shot 2017-03-31 at 8.55.45 PM

Also totally random, but how CUTE are these Carrot Utensils for a toddler. These might have to make there way into our baskets this year as well. Reagan is absolutely fascinated by silverware and loves to practice using our forks to pick things up. Good practice for her hand eye coordination.

Happy April Friends! I hope this gives you a few ideas or inspiration for your little bunnies and their Easter baskets.

St. Patrick’s Day Favorites

Happy St. Patrick’s Day week friends!!!

We are so excited for the next holiday on our docket…St. Patrick’s Day!!! Its the only time of year I can get away with having Lucky Charms in the house and I simply can’t wait to shamrock shape everything for Miss Reagan.  She could probably care less but its so fun and festive and right up my ally. Since my huge pregnant self just isn’t looking good in green these days, I decided to round up some of my favorite Rainbow inspired baby favorites to celebrate good ol’ st. patty’s day. We are so ready for Spring and some fresh air around here and what better way to brighten a rainy day then with some bright and cheerful rainbow colors.

st patricks day baby favorites

Mint Rainbow Romper  //  Rainbow Swimsuit for Baby  // Rainbow Tulle Dress  // 100% Love Blanket  // Gold Baby Moccassins  // Rainbow Stacker  // The Story of the Leprechaun  // Rain Baby Teethers

I am sooooooo in LOVE with the rainbow swimsuit and can’t wait to get it for Miss Reagan.  I also think we need to add the gold moccassins to our shoe collection. I’ve never been able to jump on the baby moccasin band wagon, but these beauties might just make it happen for me.  Like the rest of the world, I am just obsessed with everything gold these days and with Reagan almost walking it seems like a solid investment.  🙂

I have big plans for some green paleo pancakes, lots and lots of festive green treats, and possibly a shamrock shake because my sugar cravings are just out of control these days.  My pregnancy chalkboards are officially back in action, at least for the final trimester, so stay tuned for those.  There are no drinking shenanigans in my future this year, but I might sneak in some Lucky Charm covered cupcakes and of course lots of kisses from our little leprechaun.

Cheers friends,

“Our Little Bunny is ONE” – Reagan’s First Birthday Party

Last weekend I threw little miss an awesome First Birthday Party.  We had so much FUN and the biggest thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday afternoon to hop on over and celebrate our sweetest little bunny, Reagan Marie.  It was just so much fun.  Normally planning everything is what really gets my creative juices flowing, but the actual day and seeing Reagan so happy made my heart sing.

After Christmas I started searching and searching for cute party themes. I didn’t want anything corny like pink sparkles, and ultimately thats just not Reagan.  She has such an independent and unique goofy personality that I just knew a cookie cutter first birthday wasn’t going to work for us.  Besides, there is no way in hell that I could go for pre-made party decorations. I love a good DIY project and throwing parties and decorating spaces is totally my jam.

Given that her birthday is in March, I knew we had to do something indoors.  We still have like 2 feet of snow around our neck of the woods. Which is so funny, because when I gave birth to her last year it totally felt like Spring with sunshine and green grass.  Such a difference this year. I didn’t want to spend a small fortune on her party and knew I needed to get creative. I found the bunny theme on Pinterest and voila, party perfection!

I gutted out my office/craft room and couldn’t believe the treasures and endless supply of stuff I had snuck away over the past few years.  I raided all my Easter decorations and went to work putting together a party.  I knew the garden/bunny theme would be great for her and I can leave up most of the decor for Easter next month.

Most of the tangible decorations I pulled out of my Easter decor and then I made a ton of stuff using random craft supplies that I found.  I snuck in a HUGE goodwill run full of random crap as well which felt really good.  I’ll try to provide links to things that I did purchase, links to old products if they are still available or something similar, and links to DIY tutorials that I used or made up.  Most of the ideas can be found on Pinterest and I’ll provide the links to the cake stuff I used to build her birthday cake.

I know throwing your child a BIG first birthday is totally cliche these days, BUT it is so much FUN!  I totally get why parents do it.  As a guest, i’m sure its a little boring but we so appreciate everyone who supported us and helped us celebrate our baby girl. We literally couldn’t love her more than we do and i’m sure that was more than evident at her party!!!!

I completely fell in love with the vibrant greens, pinks, and purples, the bright sunlight coming in through the windows and of course all the bunny and garden vintage looking decor! So much fun and so perfect!

Green Moss Table Runner // White Cake Stand // Jade Cake Stand // Tin Tiered Tray // Gold Polka Dot Paper Plates // Gold Silverware // “Reagan is One” Custom Cake Topper

I opted to go for a light lunch, tons of fresh fruit and veggies, and a dessert bar displaying all her cakes and treats.  The dessert table was so pretty and I was ECSTATIC with how the cakes turned out. It was just a really simple layout on this Green Moss Table Runner and a long end table we already owned. I made her a mini 6″ basic vanilla cake for photos and her little cake smash.  But I ordered a cake from our FAVORITE dessert place.  They did our wedding cake, my bridal shower cake, and multiple other events and birthdays.  It was my favorite white cream cheese cake with rum raspberry filling!!!! SOOOOO GOOD! I also made THESE “bunny tail” sugar cookie truffles, THESE “lettuce” oreo truffles, THESE “carrot” strawberries, and pudding cups with crushed oreo and a carrot strawberry on top!

I moved our dining table to the side of the room and used our mirror as a backdrop with some hanging garlands that I made out of old scrap paper. Most of the table decor was a bunch of random mishmash from our house including some old glass vases, mason jars for flowers, craft crates, faux boxwood green balls, and ceramic bunnies from my Easter collection.

Lunch was chicken salad on croissants made to look like carrots with bits of parsley coming out the end, a gluten free and paleo option on beds of lettuce, the yummiest cheese ball recipe HERE, cheddar bunnies, a full garden of fresh veggies, and strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry patches. It was pretty easy other than lots and lots of washing, chopping, and assembling everything right before people showed up. But it seriously turned out way prettier than I had pictured in my head.

Beverages were strawberry lemonade, fresh cucumber water, and fresh lemon water.  I was going to do champagne but decided not to at the last minute.  My sister and I are both pregnant and we had lots of people who don’t drink at all.  Not to mention lots and lots of little ones and it didn’t seem right to have alcohol for some reason. Totally not like me one bit…must be the pregnancy hormones.

Bar Cart // Beverage Dispenser // Glass Pitchers

I made the cutest favor bags for our guests and then completely forgot to hand them out to people.  Totally my fault for putting them on the bottom of the bar cart.  Out of sight and out of the way.  I found the cutest vintage bunny graphics on The Graphic Fairy.com and printed them out on basic paper bags with the added wording, “Thank You for Hopping By.” I added a doily, some pink satin ribbon, a white bunny tail, and filled them with THIS recipe for “Bunny Bait” that I found on Pinterest. They were just adorable and the treat inside is so addicting!

The whole party was just spectacular.  We watched a bunch of little ones play together, ate lunch, sang “Happy Birthday,” and watched Reagan go to town on a piece of cake.  The guys played pool in the basement and watched the NFL combine on tv.  It was so low-key and so perfect.  I intentionally went into the whole day with zero expectations on how the decor, food, people, or Reagan’s behavior would turn out. AND…everything turned out so perfect and couldn’t have been more awesome.  These kids parties can get out of control pretty quickly and become all about the parents and the production.  While I might have gone a little overboard on the decor, I never lost sight of the true purpose of the day…celebrating our sweet Reagan Marie.  She is such a little miracle.  It was a fantastic day and again thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate!!!!!

Merry Christmas 2016

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a completely wonderful and magical holiday season. We really reined it in this year and kept Christmas and New Years Eve extremely low-key. We were of course so excited to celebrate Reagan’s first Christmas and New Years, and did manage to play up the holiday season just a bit and make it as special as possible for the little lady.

We went to my in-laws house for Christmas and had so much fun enjoying all the festive activities. It went by in a blur and once again I am so thankful I was busy snapping pics and video left and right.  I know it can get a little annoying until you check out all the adorable footage I manage to capture.

christmas img_8458“Santa Loves Me” Onesie // ELF Booties  // Red Flower Headband

We arrived close to Christmas Eve and Miss Reagan did very well in the car. She is such a good little traveler and we had excellent weather which was a huge relief.  We were packed to the brim with presents, luggage, and baby gear and thank goodness we managed to arrive in one piece. We spent Christmas Eve with family, just hanging out enjoying each other and all the cuteness that Miss Reagan provides. We had a delicious prime rib dinner and Reagan enjoyed her first ever taste of mashed potatoes. She was in heaven.  We spent lots of quality time with Jeffrey’s grandparents and were able to do our annual Christmas Eve Pajama tradition in person this year.  Santa got extra excited this year and included the guys for the first time. Rumor has it, they are enjoying the xmas jammies even more then we do each year.img_8401

img_8402Gift Tag via Pinterest HERE

Every year I have so much fun picking out the coziest pajamas for us to wear on Christmas Eve. I usually go with Gap or Old Navy because they are always on SALE and are the softest, warmest, and long lasting. This year, I was obsessed with anything in red and black buffalo plaid prints and Reagan even got in on the action. She ended up wearing a pair of boys pajamas, but what the heck, it turned out sooooooo cute. She can pretty much rock anything.  Throw on a little red flower headband and she was ready to go for pics. Clearly we have way TOO MANY dogs…

img_8464Miss Reagan was way out of her normal routine and that of course means her sleep schedule was out of whack as well. She woke up at 4am on Christmas Eve and didn’t want to go to bed one bit. The child barely napped to add to the fun. It was way too exciting knowing that Santa was coming and that there was a pile of presents with her name on them. One of our Santa’s fell asleep very early because he was the one who woke up at 4am with her.xmasimg_8414Christmas morning was completely MAGICAL!!!! With the one exception of a certain little christmas elf waking up at 5am.  This time it was my turn to hang out with her, so we watched The Christmas Story on TBS and cuddled on the couch.  Eventually the rest of the family woke up and we enjoyed a nice breakfast together before heading into the living room to open gifts.  I wasn’t sure what Reagan was going to think of all the gifts and had to majorly “check” my mom expectations before we got started. She is after all, only 10 months old and doesn’t really understand what is going on.  After a quick photo of our first Christmas as a family of three, we let Reagan have at it opening presents and tearing wrapping paper. This was clearly the most interesting part for her, but her little face did light up at a few different toys including the best ever giant stuffed giraffe that Santa left for her. img_8421img_8432img_8436img_8444

She got everything on her wish list, including a few extras, and Mommy and Daddy were very spoiled as well. I’m already super excited for next Christmas when she will understand what is going on a bit more.  But I really tried to remain present in each moment and soak up every second of her first Christmas as a sweet little baby. Next year will be so different, she will practically be a little girl already, and I am so grateful for this year and everything we have been blessed with, especially her cute little face.

Overall, it was a wonderful Christmas filled with relaxation, family, tons of dogs, buffalo plaid everything, and way too much food. Christmas Day was all about recovering and just spending as much time together as a family. I currently still have my decorations and tree up, and am sorta dreading/can’t wait to take everything down. It feels so daunting right now but I know i’ll love the clean empty look of our house for the New Year.

I am so NOT ready for 2017 but need to get my “ish” together because it has arrived.

Merry “late” Christmas FRIENDS!!!!!

Christmas Gift Guide for Baby

I think it goes without saying but little Reagan Marie has been a very good girl this year. I have a sneaking suspicion that Santa is going to be very good to her. I decided to put together a little gift guide with some of the ideas I found for Miss Reagan. Being that this is her first Christmas, we are just so excited to see her little face light up when she gets all her goodies.  She will most likely be totally pumped about the wrapping paper, bows, and nothing else. We decided to go with the easy “something to WEAR, something to READ, something you WANT, and something you NEED” formula for her gifts. She is in desperate need of a winter coat and slippers, is always down for books and new toys, and mommy kinda WANTED her to have to cutest little elf slippers i’ve ever seen.  This age is so much fun to shop for but a little tricky at the same time.  We went easy on the toys and aimed for mostly useful items that we can use over and over.  She is getting bored of her baby toys so having a few new things around will be great for her and we were in desperate need of a few new bath toys to keep her occupied and entertained.

Melissa and Doug Geometric Stacker     BabyGAP Pink Puff Coat     BabyGAP Cozy Elf Booties     UGG Bixbie Baby Booties     The Day the Crayons Quit     HAPE Color and Shape Sorter     Fair Isle Christmas Pajamas     Munchkin Bath Letters     Baby Lit’s A Christmas Carol

And in the parental department I like to think we’ve been very good “kids” as well. You’re never too old to believe in Santa and you gotta be GOOD to earn that visit from the Big guy!!! Here are a few things that are on our adult wish list this year…

screen-shot-2016-12-07-at-9-07-22-pm

FOR MOMMY:

Canon Rebel T6i     FitBit Charge 2     Threshold Izon Silverware Collection

Anthropologie Latte Bowls     Ceramic Berry Basket

FOR DADDY:

Philips Sonicare Toothbrush     Nike Men’s Metcon 2 CrossFit shoes     Kindle Fire

Lulu Lemon Gift Cards     Underarmour Men’s Athletic Gear

These Santa’s Elves are completely FINISHED with their Christmas shopping and are so grateful for Black Friday deals and online shopping.  The stockings are hung, the halls have been decked, and we are just so excited for all the festive FUN! Now we need to hit the hill for some sledding in the SNOW and I can’t wait to bake Christmas cookies with Reagan for the first time.  I’ve been waiting for our first Christmas with kids since the day I found out I was pregnant and have been playing Holiday music since the day after Halloween. Bring on all things Christmas and Festive!!!!!

Seven & Eight Months of Reagan Marie

I decided to group these two months into one blog post because not only did they just fly by, but they felt somewhat the same in terms of development and growth. Months 7 and 8 were full of fall festivities, Reagan’s first NFL football season, and our first  ever Halloween as a family.  So many firsts and highlights wrapped up into one season.  I officially maxed out my phone photo storage and am already anticipating Christmas and the holiday season. I’m going to have to brainstorm a new baby photo storage game plan.

PEDIATRICIAN CHECK-UP & GROWTH: Miss Reagan Marie won’t go into the pediatrician until her 9 month check-up and shots, but i’ll be sure to update as soon as that happens.  She is such a healthy little baby and I say a prayer of thankfulness EVERY SINGLE DAY for that.  She has outgrown most of her 6 month baby clothes and I have been on the lookout for “fall and winter” baby clothes.  We suddenly hit this point and I realized I didn’t have any warm clothes for her to wear. WHOOPS and PARENTING FAIL on my part. I can always count on Carters.com for a good selection and a 60% OFF sale.  Reagan has been growing and growing and keeps getting chunkier and chunkier.  I was super sad to pack away most of her tiny baby clothes, but its kinda fun to look at the larger selection of baby clothes in bigger sizes.  Newborn to 6 months is mostly colored onesies and we are so ready for skinny jeans and dresses! She did rock some super cute Halloween outfits and of course our first Family Halloween Costume was epic.  I will forever remember it.

EYE COLOR, HAIR COLOR, & THE BIGGEST BABY SMILES:  Nothing has really changed in this department. Eyes are still blue, hair is still sparse, and the thigh rolls are still rolling! When she stops growing I feel like I can breathe for a second and just take in all the cuteness.  It doesn’t last long though and we are quickly onto the next big milestone etc. She has been all smiles lately and is seriously one of the happiest babies I have ever seen.

SLEEP: Aww the sleeping situation.  This is ever changing and never consistent.  We seem to have hit the dreaded 8 month sleep regression and Reagan is waking up several times a night.  We have been mixing it up and trying a few different sleep techniques and strategies. We eventually just gave up and decided to ride the wave with patience and love.  She wakes up a few times a night but will go back to sleep with a pacifier and a hug.  Its really not too bad at all and we are counting our blessings on what a good baby she is.

Reagan 7 months

FEEDINGS: Reagan has been such a big girl and eating in her high chair for a few months now.  She takes mostly formula but we do solids 3 times a day still. So far she likes pretty much everything we give her.  We do mostly Oatmeal and Plum Food Pouches.  She doesn’t have any teeth yet, so i’m waiting to start giving her real food until I feel she is ready. She has become a pro at throwing things from her high chair, including food and her bottle.  She is a quick little lightening bug and will put her hands in whatever we are serving her, loves to bang her hands on the tray with Daddy, and isn’t quite sure what to think of the sippy cup we keeping giving her. Mostly she plays with it and chews on the rubber nipple. With patience, I know we will get there.  She is very independent and doesn’t like to do things until she is ready.  We have already experienced the “stink eye” several times.

SCHEDULE: With me deciding to head back to work, we worked to really simplify our schedules and it has been working for us.  Jeffrey takes Reagan on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  And i’ve got her during the week while he is busy working from home.  Jeffrey and Reagan have their own special “Daddy Daycare” schedule that usually involves lots of playing, reading, CrossFit box visits, walking the dogs, and doing projects around the house.  He keeps her nice and busy and she is always ready to take a long afternoon nap by the time noon rolls around. Our days together are a little more low key.  We ease into the day with a bottle, a little news and some election coverage, do a few projects around the house, eat some food, maybe run to Target or the grocery store, work on our Halloween costumes, and then make some dinner and relax while we wait for Daddy to get home from CrossFit.

Reagan 7 months

MILESTONES & PLAY: I have really enjoyed this phase of having a baby. Suddenly Reagan is her own little person and she is growing into her personality and mannerisms.  She loves to play and be goofy like all little babies, but she is especially talkative and sweet around us. We just love her to pieces.

She isn’t sure what to think about strangers and has the sweetest little habit of sticking her lower lip out when she isn’t sure about someone.  She is extremely comfortable around us and women in general. Anytime there is a man around that she doesn’t know, or even DOES know, that little lip comes out. She doesn’t cry, she just looks for Mommy or Daddy and won’t relax until the culprit is gone. I think its safe to say her “stranger danger” meter is definitely working.  I don’t want her to be afraid of people, but its definitely a good thing to embrace your child’s sense of caution. I want her to be able to trust her instincts, and if something or someone isn’t quite jiving, I want her to know its ok to let us know that she is uncomfortable.  We will always do our best to protect her and I know overtime she will learn who she can be around and who is a stranger.

She loves to sit and has officially started to roll around on the floor. No crawling yet but she did finally master the art of rolling on both sides.  She will roll across an entire room and literally disappear before our eyes.  She smacks her hands when she is happy and has learned how to scream. She loves to experiment with her voice and is always making all kinds of funny sounds. She puts everything in her mouth and has learned how to scoot backwards.  We joke that she can’t crawl because she is “high-centered.” That little belly of hers is always getting in the way.  She will stand on her own if she has something to hang onto and will take the occasional baby step if we are propping her up under her armpits.  She loves to be independent and wants whatever we have.  She loves it when we sing to her, the ABC’s are her favorite. No matter how fussy she is, a couple of corases will calm her instantly and put a BIG smile on that little face.  She hates to be left alone anywhere but is perfectly content playing by herself in a room where she can see us.

She loves going “out and about” with us and is a very good traveling baby. She is never fussy in public, thank goodness. We love the grocery store and Target.  We walk through the aisles and I tell her what everything is and what ingredients you use in certain dishes etc. We do colors and touch different objects. It is so fun. She does get pretty excited sometimes and will let out the biggest happy scream. Its embarrassing, funny, and adorable all at the same time. We take the puppies to the park and touch leaves and pumpkins.  She loves animals and is always excited when another dog walks by.  We swing at the park and meet other little kids and babies. This is such a fun age because she is actually interested in the world around her and wants to interact with everything,

We went to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard for family pictures and dressed up as lions and lion tamers for Halloween. She loved greeting the trick or treaters but got really scared by a few of the costumes.  We watched football games with Daddy and helped Mommy make a “practice” turkey for Thanksgiving. Overall, we had a wonderful Fall and are ready to kick-off the Holidays with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Bring on all things festive!!!!!!michelle signature

Happy July First

Happy July 1st to you ALL and Happy Friday Friends!!

I am so exited to be kicking off the long weekend with everything fun & festive for the Fourth of July. I love a good LONG weekend! Holidays that spill over onto a Monday mean a little extra sleep (maybe), a little extra help from the hubs, and lots of FUN and SUNSHINE celebrating the Red, White, and Blue. We are headed to the lake for the Fourth this year and are so excited to celebrate Miss Reagan’s first Fourth of July! We’ve got some amazing food, activities, and festive outfits planned, and just can’t wait to wrap up the week and get started on the FUN stuff.

I’ve finally rounded up my meal plan for the Fourth and this is what we are thinking. Every year we kick off our Fourth with these festive Red, White, & Blue Waffles for breakfast.  We’ve got lunch covered with my husbands delicious BBQ Pulled Beef Sandwiches and I am excited to try a NEW recipe for Lentil Salad with Cumin Lime Dressing. I actually really enjoy cooking as long as I have a decent recipe to follow and Reagan is preoccupied for a bit! Dinner is going to be classic BBQ Chicken (a staple/can’t MESS it up), but I was seriously drawn to this recipe for BBQ Chicken Bacon Pineapple Kabobs. They look AH-MAZING!!! It wouldn’t be the Fourth without Corn on the Cob and of course our 4th of July tradition…a Gourmet S’Mores Bar complete with all the candy classics. I just might end up looking pregnant again but will have had one HELL of GOOD TIME!

s'mores bar   s'mores bar

Slate Chalkboard HERE & HERE   //   4th of July Trays (similar HERE)

We’ve got our food covered, all our festive outfits are planned (read about them HERE), and we are taking the whole weekend off to Play and Celebrate as a family.  Our baby girl is turning 4 months old TOMORROW!!!! Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? Watch for her four month pictures + updates coming next week…so excited to share all the details.  Some of our good friends are getting married on Sunday so we will be living it up and flying solo without Reagan. A little sad, a little excited, and a little confused by all the mommy emotions i’m feeling about leaving her.  Totally NORMAL stuff! And then of course Monday is one of the BEST DAYS OF THE WHOLE YEAR!!!! I think its safe to say this weekend is going to ROCK!!!

Tonight, we’ve got friends coming over for pizza and to play Cards Against Humanity. I’ve never played before. We might be the last people on the planet to finally jump on that bandwagon, but am so EXCITED because I hear it is beyond hilarious and ridiculous! I bought the game the other day and thanks to Amazon Prime it arrived yesterday just in time for a whole mess of 4th of July shenanigans.

And on that note…i’m OUT! Cheers to the freakin’ weekend Friends and Happy Fourth of July to you all! Play SAFE this weekend!!!!!

With only one week to go until one of our FAVORITE HOLIDAYS, I thought it would be fun to round up some of my favorite Mama + Mini Styles for the 4th of July!!! Have I mentioned lately that having a Little Girl is the best and most festive thing EVER!!! And I LOVE it beyond belief!!!

It is no surprise that I am a lover of Holidays and anything festive.  When I think back to the Fourth last year, I was newly pregnant and in the beginning stages of good ol’ morning sickness…how FUN right??? I was a pouty party because I couldn’t drink, but was still head over heels happy because we were PREGNANT!!! We found out we were expecting over the holiday weekend last year and it was just so much fun.  The Fourth of July is one our favorite holidays and it is very serindipidous that we found out about our sweet baby while celebrating the Red, White, & Blue.

I’m just so excited to see what kind of festive shenanigans we can get into this year.  Miss Reagan is going to be representing the Red, White, & Blue and we will be taking her to the lake for the very first time. I am just so excited.  I know she is still too young to understand what is going on but its so fun to see her little eyes light up when she sees and experiences new things for the first time. SPARKLERS & S’MORES anyone?!?!?!

Hope everyone has an amazing week and it’s definitely time to do some festive 4th of July party planning!

Memorial Day 2016…Summer Starts HERE!!!

WooHoo…Memorial Day is officially in the books and that means Summer has “unofficially” started! We enjoyed a completely relaxed and uneventful weekend at home complete with a mini family photo session, puppy walks, and a movie marathon on Saturday night. Ultimately, the extra time as a family was glorious.

Reagan is becoming much more engaging and really loves it when we talk and interact with her. So FUN!!! We are ready for all things Summer around here and simply can’t wait to take her to the lake for the first time.  I’m super stoked for all the adorable baby swimsuits out there. Baby Girl’s closet is already stocked and my heart just can’t handle it.

With all the FUN that a long holiday weekend brings, its easy to forget the meaning of the day.  Its amazing to me that the simple act of bringing a child into this world has forever changed my perspective and the extreme amount of gratitude I have for those who have served and are currently serving. My heart is so grateful for the sacrifices made to ensure that our freedom will go on for generations to come. And that next generation includes my daughter. My heart wants so badly for her to grow up in a peaceful world and we all owe the biggest THANK YOU to those you have made the greatest sacrifice in the pursuit of that goal.

“I thank God for my life, and for the stars and stripes. May freedom forever fly. Let it ring.
Salute the ones who died, The ones that give their lives so we don’t have to sacrifice all the things we love.”

Reagan’s First St. Patricks Day

On March 17th we celebrated Reagan’s First Official Holiday…St. Patrick’s Day.  If you’ve followed my blog at all you know I am beyond obsessed with all holidays and any excuse to have some FUN and be extra FESTIVE.  Now that we have a sweet little munchkin I know that our holidays are only going to be that much better!!!! Both my husband and I are from proud Irish families and therefore it was very fitting that little miss’ first holiday was celebrating the Luck-of-the-Irish.  I had to do a little chalkboard for her to honor this special occasion and I made her the cutest little four leaf clover onesie and matching headband.  The onesie was super super easy to make and I loved that she had a matching headband to finish off her holiday look. I am so excited that Easter is right around the corner and we get to celebrate another holiday with our sweet little miss.

Baby Haguewood – 28 Weeks

Who is ready for a little Christmas 2015 flashback…because well…i’m just that far behind on my pregnancy posts. So Cheers to Christmas 2015…in January! Go figure…

28 Weeks - Website

“Tis the Season to be Preggers!!!!!”

28 Weeks Christmas - Website

MERRY CHRISTMAS

How far along? 28 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +18lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Struggling…but that might just be from all the fun Christmas excitement.  This time of year is so exciting and cheery!

Best moment this week: We got absolutely spoiled this Christmas and so did the baby! It was amazing and so much fun unwrapping all the goodies for the baby. I can’t wait for next year when we’ll have our little bear with us finally!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Realizing the holidays are almost over! Double edged sword for me…I love the holidays but am so ready to meet our little gummy bear! And i’m scared shitless at the same time. YIKES! So many emotions and hormones playing into this. HAHA.

Miss Anything? I really missed having some yummy mimosas on Christmas morning! I did make our traditional Christmas morning quiche but it didn’t feel the same this year…I am literally bouncing off the walls thinking about how much fun next year is going to be with the baby!

Movement: My belly is moving around so much.  I’ll watch it rolling and it looks just like Santa’s belly moving around like a bowl full of jelly! 🙂

Food cravings: Nothing this week but super excited for Christmas Cookie exchanges and all the yummy holiday treats!!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Symptoms: Not sure if baby is upside down or what the heck is going on in there but I keep feeling big jabs into my rib cage.  Sometimes it feels more like pressure coming up which makes me think it might be a little head or bottom and other times I know Baby H is kicking away right under my ribs.  If I completely open my torso up and give the little baby some extra room everything goes away.  The sensation cracks me up and makes me wonder what is GOING ON IN THERE! 🙂

Have you started to show yet: YEP

Gender prediction: BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: BEYOND HAPPY AT THIS POINT!!!

Looking forward to: New Years Eve, My Birthday, 2016 “Baby’s Birth Year”, and my Baby Shower which is in a few weeks! YIPPEEEEEEEE!

And to round out my Christmas Post here are a few photos from Christmas morning AND a photo of the Christmas Card design I did this year which was also the inspiration for my chalkboard this week.

Lovin’ the Fall Life

I am in Fall Heaven around here!!! Halloween was amazing, my belly is getting bigger, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means Black Friday aka Baby Nursery Shopping for us!!! I could not be happier or more excited!! I’ve got everything picked out and ready to go.  Just waiting for the deals and sales to start rolling in for Big Time Baby Savings!!! Let me start by saying that the hubby and I are not Black Friday Shoppers AT ALL!! Its not our thing one bit.  I love the idea of saving money but we are not the type to stand outside in the cold for hours to save $50.  However, we will be taking advantage of the savings this year with Black Friday Sales and also Cyber Monday Sales.  Here are some of the deals and steals that I can’t wait to get my hands on immediately after Thanksgiving.

Black Friday Wish List 2015

J. Hunt Lamp      Tufted Rocking Chair      Sophie the Giraffe Teether     Elephant Teether

Eddie Bauer Langley Crib      Honest Company Diapers       Summer Infant Baby Monitor

I also scored this amazing gather doormat for Thanksgiving/November at Target!!! I love it so much and it was on sale! Double score! I love a festive porch even if I am the only one who ever sees it.  I’m really hoping next year we can host Thanksgiving and Christmas! With having the baby, I want his or hers first holidays to be in our home.  So I see some party hosting in our future!!

gather doormat

We just returned from a trip to Seattle to visit my husbands family.  We had such a good time.  We celebrated his grandfather’s 85th birthday and danced the night away at a wedding for a family friend.  It was so nice to see everyone and relax for the whole week.  The golden girls were all together again and we snapped some adorable photos of them.  They always have a blast together along with the adults.  Plus I finally got to show off my pregnant belly…which is getting HUGE these days.  I’m so glad I finally look pregnant and not just fat.

And finally I have spent my last day of vacation putting up Christmas decorations, finalizing all the plans for our Black Friday / Cyber Monday Shopping haul, catching up on laundry from the trip, and cleaning the house.

IMG_1086

It feels so good to be home and to have everything mapped out and ready to go.  This of course means I am almost officially ready for the holidays.  Time to get back into work mode and take the golden girls for a walk around the neighborhood!!! Until next time friends…

Twas’ a very Merry Christmas – Part Three

I spent most of Christmas Eve finishing up my cookie boxes and prepping some food for Christmas Day!!!! The hubby worked for most of the day and then we enjoyed a nice dinner together and watched some Christmas movies.

And finally…Christmas Day arrived.  After weeks of prep the day always flies by, so we spent most of the day soaking up all the fun and enjoying our time together.

We started our morning seeing what “Santa” brought us aka what santa brought the girly puppies.  I swear, they are more spoiled every year then we are…as it should be HAHA!!!

IMG_6555

IMG_6557

It was absolutely magical and we had so much fun.  We were able to Skype with my in-laws while opening presents, and it was so nice to share in the fun and chat with them on Christmas Day. The girly puppies were so exhausted after all the Christmas fun and had a little cuddle-sesh with all their new toys…so spoiled.

IMG_6559

This year I tried a new recipe from a good friend, and made some yummy and healthy quiches for Christmas morning.  The hubby LOVED them and i’ve already made them again since.  I, on the other hand, enjoyed some yummy mimosas while we opened presents.  A Christmas tradition for us…and so yummy!!!!

IMG_6556

We had such a magical morning and then it was off to my parents house for Christmas Dinner with the whole family.  We arrived a little early and opened some gifts with my family before guests arrived.  We enjoyed a relaxing night chatting with family followed by an amazing Prime Rib dinner…sooooo good!!!!

My cute parents…love them!!!!

We had such a blast! Given that this will most likely be our last Christmas with the just the two of us, we really tried to enjoy our time together before Little Baby Haguewood comes along at some point!!!

I was also super excited to include my mom in a fun tradition this year for the first time.  Not quite sure exactly how this tradition came about, it just sorta happened, and has been a FUN part of our Christmas ever sense.  The first year Jeffrey and I were dating/engaged, I bought the most adorable Christmas PJ’s for his mom and sister.  Every year sense I have given them Christmas Eve Pajamas that are beyond comfy and cozy!!! It has been so much fun looking back at all the pictures and remembering each Christmas and the endless family memories!!! This year I decide to include my mom in the fun and someday…SOMEDAY…if we have a little baby girl the 3 of us can match!!!  It is such a silly little tradition but I truly enjoy shopping for the cute pajamas each year.  Here is a peak at the last few years…

And that is officially ALL there is for our Christmas!!! We truly were spoiled beyond belief and had so much FUN hanging out with all our family and friends!!! Not quite sure where we will be next Christmas but I am already excited and can’t wait.  When I took down all our xmas decor on New Years Day I was quite sad but completely ready to embrace 2015 and all the FUN & JOY that is sure to happen!!! I can’t wait!!! Thank you for bearing with me as I blog about our Christmas in January…we just had so much fun that I couldn’t NOT include all the details!!!!

I hope everyone had an AMAZING weekend!!! I was crazy busy with a BIG bridal fair and had such a blast helping the sweetest of brides all weekend long. It was glorious!!!!

As always, THANK YOU SO MUCH, for reading!

Twas’ a very Merry Christmas – Part Two “My Christmas Cookies & Recipes”

The few days leading up to Christmas I was one busy and slightly crazy lady running around wrapping up last minute gifts and putting together some tasty Christmas Cookie boxes for friends and family!!!! I was up at the crack of dawn busting out these goodies and stayed up way past my bedtime finishing everything.

First up I made copycat Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Cookies. I opted for the cookies instead of the bars, but with a few easy modifications to the recipe the bars could be easily achieved.  To download the whole recipe click Cranberry Bliss Cookies.

Next up the most AMAZING and yummy Chocolate, Caramel, and Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats!! These were so easy to make and and beyond tasty.  To download the whole recipe click Chocolate Rice Krispy Treats!

Perfect M&M Cookies were definitely a TREAT!!! Click Perfect M&M Cookies to download the recipe!!!

These yummy Raspberry Almond Shortbread Cookies were probably one of my all-time favorite cookies this year.  They were super easy to make and are soon delicious!!! Click Raspberry Almond Shortbread Cookies to download the recipe.

And last I decided to include the classic Peanut Butter Blossom cookie! Always a staple and a favorite of many of our family and friends! Click Peanut Butter Blossoms to download the recipe.  I opted to use Hersey Hugs instead of the classic Kiss.

Peanut Butter Blossoms

I had such a blast making all these goodies.  I will be 100% honest however, these goodies were a TON of work.  I was pooped by the end and had pretty much exhausted my stack of Christmas DVDs.  They are wonderful for an inexpensive gift for coworkers and family though.

If you have any questions regrading the recipes or trouble downloading them, let me know and I can email you the recipe directly!!! Any of these recipes could be modified for different holidays or used as is.

Enjoy friends,
