Seven & Eight Months of Reagan Marie

I decided to group these two months into one blog post because not only did they just fly by, but they felt somewhat the same in terms of development and growth. Months 7 and 8 were full of fall festivities, Reagan’s first NFL football season, and our first  ever Halloween as a family.  So many firsts and highlights wrapped up into one season.  I officially maxed out my phone photo storage and am already anticipating Christmas and the holiday season. I’m going to have to brainstorm a new baby photo storage game plan.

PEDIATRICIAN CHECK-UP & GROWTH: Miss Reagan Marie won’t go into the pediatrician until her 9 month check-up and shots, but i’ll be sure to update as soon as that happens.  She is such a healthy little baby and I say a prayer of thankfulness EVERY SINGLE DAY for that.  She has outgrown most of her 6 month baby clothes and I have been on the lookout for “fall and winter” baby clothes.  We suddenly hit this point and I realized I didn’t have any warm clothes for her to wear. WHOOPS and PARENTING FAIL on my part. I can always count on for a good selection and a 60% OFF sale.  Reagan has been growing and growing and keeps getting chunkier and chunkier.  I was super sad to pack away most of her tiny baby clothes, but its kinda fun to look at the larger selection of baby clothes in bigger sizes.  Newborn to 6 months is mostly colored onesies and we are so ready for skinny jeans and dresses! She did rock some super cute Halloween outfits and of course our first Family Halloween Costume was epic.  I will forever remember it.

EYE COLOR, HAIR COLOR, & THE BIGGEST BABY SMILES:  Nothing has really changed in this department. Eyes are still blue, hair is still sparse, and the thigh rolls are still rolling! When she stops growing I feel like I can breathe for a second and just take in all the cuteness.  It doesn’t last long though and we are quickly onto the next big milestone etc. She has been all smiles lately and is seriously one of the happiest babies I have ever seen.

SLEEP: Aww the sleeping situation.  This is ever changing and never consistent.  We seem to have hit the dreaded 8 month sleep regression and Reagan is waking up several times a night.  We have been mixing it up and trying a few different sleep techniques and strategies. We eventually just gave up and decided to ride the wave with patience and love.  She wakes up a few times a night but will go back to sleep with a pacifier and a hug.  Its really not too bad at all and we are counting our blessings on what a good baby she is.

FEEDINGS: Reagan has been such a big girl and eating in her high chair for a few months now.  She takes mostly formula but we do solids 3 times a day still. So far she likes pretty much everything we give her.  We do mostly Oatmeal and Plum Food Pouches.  She doesn’t have any teeth yet, so i’m waiting to start giving her real food until I feel she is ready. She has become a pro at throwing things from her high chair, including food and her bottle.  She is a quick little lightening bug and will put her hands in whatever we are serving her, loves to bang her hands on the tray with Daddy, and isn’t quite sure what to think of the sippy cup we keeping giving her. Mostly she plays with it and chews on the rubber nipple. With patience, I know we will get there.  She is very independent and doesn’t like to do things until she is ready.  We have already experienced the “stink eye” several times.

SCHEDULE: With me deciding to head back to work, we worked to really simplify our schedules and it has been working for us.  Jeffrey takes Reagan on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  And i’ve got her during the week while he is busy working from home.  Jeffrey and Reagan have their own special “Daddy Daycare” schedule that usually involves lots of playing, reading, CrossFit box visits, walking the dogs, and doing projects around the house.  He keeps her nice and busy and she is always ready to take a long afternoon nap by the time noon rolls around. Our days together are a little more low key.  We ease into the day with a bottle, a little news and some election coverage, do a few projects around the house, eat some food, maybe run to Target or the grocery store, work on our Halloween costumes, and then make some dinner and relax while we wait for Daddy to get home from CrossFit.

MILESTONES & PLAY: I have really enjoyed this phase of having a baby. Suddenly Reagan is her own little person and she is growing into her personality and mannerisms.  She loves to play and be goofy like all little babies, but she is especially talkative and sweet around us. We just love her to pieces.

She isn’t sure what to think about strangers and has the sweetest little habit of sticking her lower lip out when she isn’t sure about someone.  She is extremely comfortable around us and women in general. Anytime there is a man around that she doesn’t know, or even DOES know, that little lip comes out. She doesn’t cry, she just looks for Mommy or Daddy and won’t relax until the culprit is gone. I think its safe to say her “stranger danger” meter is definitely working.  I don’t want her to be afraid of people, but its definitely a good thing to embrace your child’s sense of caution. I want her to be able to trust her instincts, and if something or someone isn’t quite jiving, I want her to know its ok to let us know that she is uncomfortable.  We will always do our best to protect her and I know overtime she will learn who she can be around and who is a stranger.

She loves to sit and has officially started to roll around on the floor. No crawling yet but she did finally master the art of rolling on both sides.  She will roll across an entire room and literally disappear before our eyes.  She smacks her hands when she is happy and has learned how to scream. She loves to experiment with her voice and is always making all kinds of funny sounds. She puts everything in her mouth and has learned how to scoot backwards.  We joke that she can’t crawl because she is “high-centered.” That little belly of hers is always getting in the way.  She will stand on her own if she has something to hang onto and will take the occasional baby step if we are propping her up under her armpits.  She loves to be independent and wants whatever we have.  She loves it when we sing to her, the ABC’s are her favorite. No matter how fussy she is, a couple of corases will calm her instantly and put a BIG smile on that little face.  She hates to be left alone anywhere but is perfectly content playing by herself in a room where she can see us.

She loves going “out and about” with us and is a very good traveling baby. She is never fussy in public, thank goodness. We love the grocery store and Target.  We walk through the aisles and I tell her what everything is and what ingredients you use in certain dishes etc. We do colors and touch different objects. It is so fun. She does get pretty excited sometimes and will let out the biggest happy scream. Its embarrassing, funny, and adorable all at the same time. We take the puppies to the park and touch leaves and pumpkins.  She loves animals and is always excited when another dog walks by.  We swing at the park and meet other little kids and babies. This is such a fun age because she is actually interested in the world around her and wants to interact with everything,

We went to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard for family pictures and dressed up as lions and lion tamers for Halloween. She loved greeting the trick or treaters but got really scared by a few of the costumes.  We watched football games with Daddy and helped Mommy make a “practice” turkey for Thanksgiving. Overall, we had a wonderful Fall and are ready to kick-off the Holidays with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Bring on all things festive!!!!!!michelle signature

Sweet Baby Haguewood’s story so far…

– April 23, 2015 –

Jeffrey and I were ecstatic to have officially pulled the goalie, AKA birth control.  We finally decided it was time to shift gears and start trying for a little Baby Haguewood.  Nerves were extremely HIGH but we were soooooooo excited and thrilled to finally start trying.   We had been talking about “trying” for about 6 months prior and were incredibly nervous and unprepared.  I knew absolutely nothing about babies, children, or getting preggers… other than the FACT that I knew I wanted to be a Mommy!!!!!

Bring on the research and the ovulation apps. Here are some super blurry photos from the day we officially “pulled the goalie.” I was so nervous and excited I couldn’t stop shaking my phone to get a good picture. If i’m nervous now…what the hell is going to happen when I actually have a little baby in my arms…EEEEKKKKK & YAYYYYYYYYY!!!

I know the Chalkboard Bumps via Pinterest are about a dime a dozen nowadays…but Chalkboard Art is kinda my jam and I wouldn’t feel right not documenting every single moment of my very first pregnancy. I knew I wanted to do this a few years back before they became all the rage, but seriously,  what a fun and creative way to document my growing bump each week.

I started with an “It’s Official” chalkboard so we would always remember this awesome time in our lives AND our solo married years!! We had a lot of FUN and I am so happy that we have waited to pull the trigger on babies…our lives are about to get CRAZY!!!!

– July 2, 2015 –

The official day we found out we are expecting!!! You can read all about how we found out HERE if you are interested!

– August 3, 2015 –

The official Pregnancy Announcement!!! This was a BIG step for us because we had been wanting to tell everyone for almost five weeks…way too long to keep such a good secret.  I was absolutely set on waiting until we could see the heartbeat however.  And it was completely worth the wait!! When we saw that little flicker on the ultrasound…oh my goodness…it was the most amazing thing.  I had completely gotten used to the idea of being pregnant but it didn’t really hit me that there was a whole new living little babe growing inside me until we saw the first ultrasound.  Such a magical moment. I remember just looking over at Jeffrey and he was beaming with a HUGE smile.  It really was an amazing moment and something I will never forget.

At this time we are 8 weeks pregnant + a few days!! I’m feeling relatively good.  Morning sickness is starting to kick in big time but mostly i’m just exhausted all the time.  I go to work, try not to get sick, we go on a “Pregnancy Walk” every night together, try not to get sick, we do dinner, try not to get sick, and then its bedtime!!! Rinse & Repeat!!! Oh, plus the 500 times I get up every night to go to the bathroom.

But through it all…I am so HAPPY!!! Every moment is fun and new. We haven’t done much planning but it is so much fun to chat about all the possibilities!! I have a couple of ideas for the nursery and we already have our names picked out.  We are officially set on NOT finding out the gender.  We want the BIGGEST surprise of our lives to be the moment we meet out little boy or girl!!

Here are some belly pics…more like my lack of belly pics also known as my last ab pics for the next 9 months!!

– 3 Weeks –

(we technically found out about Baby H at 3.5 weeks)

3 Weeks BW

– 4 Weeks –

4 Weeks BW

– 5 Weeks –

***Goofy pic of me brushing my teeth…but it seemed like a good time to get a belly pic HAHA. Abs are starting to disappear a little.  Feeling soft and more bloated than ever.  The Joy!! I can’t wait until I have a legitimate belly instead of just looking like I ate a few too many cupcakes and s’mores.  Which is probably the case anyway. HAHA.

And finally, I thought it would be fun to share a few photos of Baby H’s very first onesies!!!

Back in 2011 we went to a KISS concert right before our wedding and had an absolute blast.  We are major 80’s rock fans so on our first anniversary some of our good friends sent us a little KISS onesie!!! At the time we laughed it off saying no way, we aren’t having kids for a LONG time.  Well dang, the last four years flew by and BOOM here we are…expecting our first sweet little babe!!!! Below is a pic we took on our way to the KISS concert and our rockin’ little onesie for Baby H!!!!

ps…Thanks sooooooo much Patrick and Lauren!!!!

When we officially started “trying” for a baby I knew immediately how I wanted to spill the beans to Mr. Jeffrey.  Events totally played out differently, but they definitely unfolded the way they were meant to.  If you have followed my blog or Instagram at all over the years you know we are MAJOR SEAHAWKS fans.  Like, before they were good and awesome, die hard fans.  True fans didn’t just jump on the Russell Wilson SuperBowl bandwagon.  I had always imagined telling him with a cute little Seahawks onesie.  So below are photos of us rockin’ our Seahawks Gear AND our baby’s first ever official Seahawks Shirt.  I am SOOOOOOO excited to have another FAN in the house. Whoop Whoop. GO HAWKS!!!

ps…First PreSeason Game is in T-minus 9 days!!!! Can’t wait.

Our SuperBowl XLIX Party

Well…the SuperBowl was definitely a BIG disappointment for our Seattle Seahawks. But, a true fan is always a fan even when their team loses.  It simply comes with the territory and nature of competitive sports. We had high hopes for a 2nd SuperBowl win, but it just wasn’t in the cards for our 12’s!

Our original plan was to watch the game and enjoy some game day food with our girly puppies.  Things changed rather quickly and we enjoyed the game with a house full of FAMILY! It was awesome.  We have never done much “entertaining” at our house so it was wonderful to have everyone around for the FESTIVITIES!!!

I decorated our basement and turned it into a “HAWKS NEST” of sorts.  Festive decorations always help to set the mood and we wanted to send good energy to our Hawks on game day.  I decorated our mantel last year, but this year we went all out with balloons, streamers, and football pom poms in addition to last years decorations! I’ve got quite the collection going on.

I took last years mantel decor and gave it a little update.  To check out last years mantel and how I made the “GO SEAHAWKS” letters click HERE!  My Circle Garland Tutorial can be found HERE. This year I added the festive tassel garland and football yardage banner! They turned out so good and I can reuse all the pieces again next year!

We wrapped up our “Hawks Nest” decor with a cute football field snack table! Add some yummy lime chips, homemade guacomole, veggies and one of my FESTIVE chalkboards and we were ready to start some pre-game party action.

I was sooooooo pleased with how my Seahawks Chalkboard turned out. I have made it available in my Etsy Shop, LoveTheSparkle, if you are interested in downloading it.  I also have some other Football Inspired prints available to help carry you through the off-season.

We continued our SuperBowl Shenanigans upstairs with LOTS & LOTS of appetizers, drinks, and my spicy homemade Chili! To download the recipe click SuperBowl 2015 Game Day Recipes and ENJOY!!!!

Crock Pot Chili

I finally had an opportunity to put my Pretty Bar Cart to good use.  This sweet thing was a birthday gift from my mom and I have been absolutely dying to do some entertaining so I can show it off.  I brought back the football mason jar from last year and enjoyed “several” tasty rum & cokes during the game.  It was the SuperBowl after all.  I also put out some champagne glasses for celebratory purposes…but we didn’t win.  We totally broke out the champagne anyway…

I had every intention of posting this several days ago, prior to our Big SuperBowl celebration. Here are some Seahawks Favorites that will knock your socks off at your SuperBowl 49 next game day party…

Seahawks Favorites - 2015

We had such a wonderful time celebrating with both sets of parents and finally enjoying a “day off” together.  They very rarely come around these days so it was so wonderful to see my sweet hubby and rock some Seahawks gear at the same time.  The off-season will “feel” long, but football will be back before we know it.  I’m already anticipating Draft Day 2015 and hoping Marshawn Lynch accepts the new 4-year contract we offered him.  Sigh…

CHEERS to a very happy and loving February Friends!!! And hopefully it will either snow some more OR spring will pop up early…i’m so over this dark, cold, and brown winter!!!

Hope everyone is ready for “HEART” shaped everything!

I literally have no words to describe how CRAZY the Seahawks game was on Sunday.  We are beyond thrilled and still in COMPLETE SHOCK that our Hawks are heading back to the Superbowl.  It has been one freakin’ crazy season but with a 9 game winning streak…they definitely deserve to go back to the BIG GAME!!! I am so flipping excited. The news about the game has been endless on social media etc. so I won’t bore you with highlights and recaps.  Just know…that I was completely speechless and crazy excited!!!!!!

12th man on

After last years BIG WIN we were hoping that we would make another Superbowl appearance and my brain is on decoration and party planning overload!!!! I don’t know if I can top last years design, but i’m definitely going to give it a go.  To check out last years posts on our BIG Superbowl WIN click HERE and HERE.

Happy December Friends…FaLaLaLa

Happy December my friends!!!!

I’m so flipping excited for Christmas, New Years, and all things SNOW related!!! Bring on a very white Christmas baby!!!

But first a quick Fall roundup…because once again I got a little behind on blogging!!! I’ve definitely been marching to my own beat lately and blogging just wasn’t part of the schedule!!!

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since mid-November when we were celebrating Miss Jovie’s 5th birthday. I didn’t even cover our Halloween festivities…

So here is a quick recap of all things Halloween and Thanksgiving related with a few of my favorite Football ramblings sprinkled in.

– October 31, 2014 –

As much as I love Thanksgiving & Christmas, i’m always a little sad the day after Halloween. It truly is one of my all-time favorite holidays and I plan our costumes all year long.   This year I searched and searched for an awesome family costume!!! Last years SuperFamily was one of my absolute favorites and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to top it.

So keeping with the tutu theme from last year…I opted for a fun fairytale costume…

The 3 Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf

We had such a blast.  I intentionally left all our lights off so we wouldn’t get any trick-or-treaters and we hit the town with some good friends in our costumes.  As always, I made our costumes and I just want to point out that I AM SO HAPPY with how they turned out.  Although the 2 biggest challenges were finding a freakin’ pair of light pink leggings to wear under my tutu AND making the hubby’s wolf hood by hand.  It was a nice challenge but something I won’t be attempting again!!!

– November 27, 2014 –

This year was incredibly quiet for us over the Thanksgiving holiday. We are getting to that age where families are beginning to spread out and start their own traditions etc.  That means smaller family gatherings, until of course we start our own family. YAY! YAY! YAY!

I was SOOOOOOOO excited to try out a new Thanksgiving Cupcake recipe this year…

INTRODUCING the worlds cutest Pie Inspired Cupcakes…in cute packaging of course!!!! I’m in love…

Cherry Pie Cupcakes

Apple Pie Cupcakes

I had such a blast passing these beauties out to good friends and family! I’m so incredibly thankful for each and everyone of them!!!!

We started our morning with a wonderful and chilly walk with the golden girls. It was such a gorgeous morning and although it was COLD the sun was shining!!!!

The hubby visited some friends and I watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  We enjoyed an absolutely amazing dinner with my parents, a few aunts and cousins, and my sweet grandfather.  It was super chill and completely wonderful…and you know there were yummy Mimosas involved so I was a HAPPY girl.

We really missed our golden girls however, so we decided to head home early this year.  We curled up in some comfy pajamas, gave lots of Thanksgiving kisses to the girls, and watched our AMAZING Seattle Seahawks destroy the San Fransisco 49ers.  Just one more reason to be extra Thankful this year!!! My friends…it was an absolutely glorious WIN and we were cheering the whole game. GO HAWKS!!

Screen Shot 2014-12-07 at 8.39.10 PM

We have so many reasons to be Thankful this year…way to many to count.  So i’ll be simple and give a shoutout to all our Friends and Family…WE LOVE YOU and are so incredibly thankful for the endless love and support we receive from you all on a regular basis. Not just on thanksgiving, but all year long.

As each year passes, I begin to see the value of our loved ones more and more, and the “stuff” of this life fades into the background. “Stuff” is meaningless and relationships are KEY.  I would like to spend my time investing in people and relationships.

With that, i’m going to wrap some Christmas gifts and put another sprig of Mistletoe up in our house…any excuse to get some “extra” kisses from my amazing hubby this time of year.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, a Happy Holiday, and Happy “Everything!!!!!”

It’s all about the Jovie dog…

On Tuesday, November 11th we celebrated our sweet dog Jovie’s 5th Birthday!!!!

She is such a darling and we have so much love for this little baby.  My hubby received Jovie as a birthday gift 5 years ago and she has been his loving companion ever sense.  These two are simply inseparable.  Every time the hubby has to go on a business trip, Jovie patiently waits for him to come home. She was one of the CUTEST golden puppies I have ever seen.

When Jeffrey and I got married in 2011, I had the honor of becoming this little girls “mommy” and she is just as precious now as she was then. We all look like babies in this picture.

She loves going to Grandma and Grandpa’s lake house and jumping off the dock more than anything else. She truly is a water dog and her “Happy Place” is wherever she can swim and swim and swim.

She puts up with so many of my holiday shenanigans including yearly Halloween costumes, bunny ears for Easter, and Christmas scarves for the holidays.

This angel has celebrated so many milestones with our family and now we are excited to celebrate HER!!!

In the Spring we found out Jovie had a malignant tumor in her leg.  We were simply devastated.  We knew we weren’t ready to say goodbye to our baby and it wasn’t quite her time yet.  So… after 2 surgeries, several weeks in a full leg cast, and 100lb. mommy carrying 65lb. Jovie up and down the stairs multiple times a day, we FINALLY received the all clear and a clean bill of health!!! Our baby was back and her inner LIGHT was shinning brighter than ever!!!! We added a third Cancer Survivor to our family and CELEBRATED!!!!

September means Football Season Ya’ll

September 2014

I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to welcome September!!! September really is the unofficial start of Fall and as much as I want to dive right in, we aren’t quite there just yet.  I still have a few items to cross off my  Summer bucket list.

September 2014 - poem

September means so many wonderful things to me…beautiful weather, yummy carmel & apple EVERYTHING, and of course some FOOTBALL!!! My football loving heart has been on pins and needles the last few days waiting for the 2014 Season Kickoff Game – Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers. Arghhhhhhh I literally cannot wait!!! My hubby and I have been in full football prep mode including putting up some seasonal football decor, a tasty gameday menu, and some cozy new Seahawks blankets to ring in September and the Big Game! Soooooooooooo excited!

Seahawks Blankets

In honor of September I enjoyed my first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks the other day.  The epitome of everything FALL in one amazing and delicious beverage!  Fall and Christmas are really the only times I hit up Starbucks due to the hefty $$$ I dish out and the calorie count. Yikes!!! But every sip is totally worth it!!!

Pumpkin Spice Latte 2014

On the docket this Fall i’ve got some yummy new soup recipes that i’m excited to try out and a few fun projects to knock out as the weather gets chilly.  Watch for some fun and festive chalkboard prints that I will be posting shortly. This weekend is supposed to be the last gorgeous and HOT weekend of the summer so i’m excited to wrap up a few summer items and maybe polish off whats left of my summer tan. So CHEERS to a big WIN tomorrow night against the Packers and all the wonders that Fall will bring this September!

Lots of Love & Blessings,

Hello February

Hello February 2014

Goodbye January, HELLO February!!!

My mind has been so wrapped up in Superbowl Party planning that I haven’t even thought about Valentines Day yet.  I’m so looking forward to everything this month has to offer.  I’m officially kicking off my Operation Organization – 12 11Months to a Clean Home starting with my home office, and i’ve got some fun ideas for new chalkboard designs coming soon to my EtsyShop, LovetheSparkle.

Winter has decided to make its presence known again with a few inches of fresh snow.  So gorgeous and pretty.  If you read my Winter Blues post you will know that the snow makes it ALL better and worth it to live in the Wintery Northwest.  So its officially Winter again and that means Winter Favorites!!!!

Winter 2014 Favorites

#1 – EOS Organic LipBalm in “Sweet Mint”  #2 – Sorel Women’s Snow Boots  #3 – Essie Nail Polish “Mint Candy Apple”   #4 – Target Glass Jars   #5 – Essie Nail Polish “Marshmallow”  #6 – Target Belted Tunic   #7 – Gray Bow Beenie

We are less than 24 hours away from kick off for Superbowl 48.  I’m excited to wrap up some work this week and enjoy a bonus day full of yummy food and a fantastic football game.  We have been doing some serious manifesting for a BIG WIN on Sunday and I believe luck will be on our side! Go Seahawks!

I’ve also got some fun DIY “how to’s” planned for all my fun Seahawks inspired decorations.  They were all super easy and could be modified for any holiday or party theme!

February kinda snuck up on me this year.  I’m finally feeling like i’ve recovered from the holidays and officially have my “ish” together.  I was feeling completely drained after the holidays and January was a glorious month full of down time.  I usually am much more on top of things and i’m hoping that I can make some progress on my to do list this February.  The only big holiday is Valentine’s Day and that leaves plenty of time to focus on getting myself organized before Spring shows its face.

I’ll be back with a recap from our Sunday Superbowl  Extravaganza! I leave you tonight with an awesome photo of my coworkers.  We all wore our Seahawks gear.

Superbowl Extravaganza Party Planning

Seahawks Loud

I can barely contain my excitement at the moment as we are only a few days away from Superbowl 48!!! OOHHH MYYY GOOOODDDD our team is amazing and we are so excited to finally see them succeed and make it to the Big Game.  I would like to include the fact that we were die hard Seahawks FANS even when the team sucked and they were the laughing stock of the NFL.  True fans gotta stick it out and BOOM we made it to the Superbowl. Beast Mode!

The past week my brain has been wrapped around party planning and getting everything organized for our Sweet Ass Superbowl Extravaganza!!! To say i’m excited is the understatement of the century…

I was really pleased with how my rocking Seahawks decorations turned out. I decided to keep it contained to our downstairs media area so we can enjoy it fully during the game. Upstairs we will be rocking the Chili Bar and the “adult beverages!!!”

Hello Football Season

HUGE “SIGH” from pure happiness!!! My hubby and I completely live for & love football season!!!

It’s definitely time to kick off this season of Seahawks Football in style!!!  I found some fun Seahawks attire at Dick’s Sporting for the hubby and myself.  Woo Hoo…a double dose of awesome!! New clothes & Football all rolled up into one!!! I would also like to point out that Lime Green & Pink were my favorite colors prior to becoming a HUGE Seahawks fan…again…just saying!

Proud to say that Seattle won their first game of the season even with a few injuries and a suspended player. Looking forward to many more games to come.

Next up, we have Sunday night football and a casual dinner.  I worked all afternoon and the hubby attended a Polo Tournament Fundraiser for a local charity.  I missed out big time as Kate Middleton often attends polo matches.  I love me some Kate Middleton and am a huge fan.

We are so jacked for football season and all things Fall. I’m holding on to my boot straps trying to keep from exploding Fall decorations all over my house.  The hubby has some business trips coming up soon and I just might go crazy with decorating and enjoy a bottle of wine.

I absolutely had to design a football chalkboard to commemorate the start of the 2013 NFL season.  Go Seahawks!!!!  Here is my “we interrupt this marriage to bring you football season” chalkboard.  I’m excited to make a few colorful lime green and blue garlands to decorate it with!!!

And lets not forget that October is breast cancer awareness month and the US will explode with ALL things PINK to raise awareness about this tragic illness.  As a cancer survivor myself I am all about the cause, and am counting down the days until we can celebrate the survivors as well as remember the loved ones we have lost.

I leave you tonight with this cute pic of our dog, Jovie!!! She hung out with us all morning while we watched the football game.

“Big and Lil” Chalkboard Style & ETSY Shop Opening

Hello to my Chalkboard Restyling mini-tutorial!!! My big chalkboard was getting a little dingy and I decided that it was time for a little refinishing!!! I also decided that it was time to expand my little chalkboard collection with a mini-me chalkboard for our downstairs mantel. Love it for the holiday season which is on its way…

To check out a full DIY Tutorial on Making a Chalkboard click HERE

Chalkboard Restyling 1

I made my mini-chalkboard using the same steps as my big chalkboard.  Check out the tutorial above for a detailed guide. Here is a quick breeze over of in pictures!!!

Chalkboard Restyling 2 Chalkboard Restyling 3

After several designs and washing my board the finish gets grimy and a white film will always be on the board no matter how many times I wash and wipe it clean.  To refinish my large chalkboard I used blue painters tape and made a clean edge on the inside of the chalkboard.

Once taped and ready to go I put a thin layer of fresh chalkboard paint on the board. I find that letting the board dry over night is best.  And I put a fresh coat of paint on after every 8 to 10 designs.

BOOM a brand new restyled chalkboard and a mini-me chalkboard!!

Chalkboard Restyling 7

So we have been super busy working and getting ready for Fall Excitement!!! We have some fun weddings coming up and of course FOOTBALL SEASON is almost here. We literally have a few days left until Game One Kick Off!!!!

GO SEAHAWKS & Russel Wilson is the Bomb…Just Saying!!!

I’m putting the final touches on my Etsy shop, LovetheSparkle, which should be opening soon. All of my chalkboard designs will be available for purchase via a digital download.  I’m hoping you all love them as much as I do.  Let me know what you think. I would love some feedback.  I’ll let you know when we officially open for business, haha!!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day and is having a fantastic WEEK!!!!
