Four Months of Reagan Marie

WHOAAAAA…guess who has officially graduated from the “newborn” phase into the “infant” stage?!?!? Sweet Reagan Marie is four months old and I can’t believe how “cool” and “happy” this little girl is.  I’ve always loved kids and while I was never a baby/infant person, I could still appreciate the extreme cuteness of a newborn baby or smiley infant! Well Miss Reagan takes it to a whole new level and my heart is just so full of gratitude that her spirit is so joyful!!!

I have never seen a more happy or smiley baby in my life and I could cry happy tears thinking about how she is all ours!!! I just love her so much and love that her little soul is elated like 95% of the day. HAHA! The rest of the day, hold on to your ears friends, because this little angel can scream! The girl definitely has a sassy side to her as well. Pretty sure my mind just flashed forward 16 years to Jeffrey and I sitting on the edge of our seats, holding on for dear life…*with or without a bottle of wine in our hands. I think we’ll take it one day at a time for now. 🙂

Here we are, well into our fourth month of being parents, and I think I can finally say that things have gotten easier. Life feels normal (and wonderful) again, we have established routines that make everyone happy & things are good. Its just crazy to think about how challenging, both physically and mentally, those first few months were. And yet when I think back, I can’t even really remember the pain and struggles of the early days. I just remember that it was HARD as hell but we made it through as a family.

Here are Little Reagan’s Month 4 Photos and Updates…

monthly baby photos

PEDIATRICIAN CHECK-UP AND GROWTH: Miss Reagan went in for her 4 month wellness checkup at the beginning of July.  She is doing sooooo GOOD! All the nurses and doctors just love her little smile and she is always so vocal when we go in for a visit.  It cracks me up how she is always smiling and giggling at strangers and basically anyone who smiles in her general direction.  She babbles, blows bubbles (more like spit & drool), and loves being the center of attention. She continues to remain a petite little thing weighing in at 13lbs. and generally stays in the 25th percentile for weight.  She is in the 50th percentile for height at 24″ and the 50th percentile for head circumferance at 40cm.

monthly baby photos

EYE COLOR, HAIR, AND ONE TUMMY TIME FANATIC:  Her eyes are continuing to remain a beautiful blue color with the lightest hint of gray mixed in.  I’m still waiting for them to change at some point but the older she gets the more I think they might stay blue.  Her hair doesn’t seem to want to grow at all, but it has become a shade darker over the past month. When we are outside the true strawberry blonde color really comes out.  I always expected her to be a strong red head like me but her hair is much darker then mine.

Reagan’s BIG DEVELOPMENT this month is her new love for tummy time.  She has always tolerated tummy time but is much happier when being held or cuddled.  Then one day I walked into this…

“Oh Hey Mom, look I can prop myself up…and guess what, I like tummy time now.”

tummy time baby

SLEEP: The magic formula for a good nights sleep continues to remain elusive.  We have tried so many different things from extending her bedtime, more milk before bed, and every “effin” sound/music machine on the baby market.  ITS JUST A “NO GO” FRIENDS!!! Right now, she goes through phases of sleeping well and being up most of the night.  Some nights I get up once or twice and other nights its 6+ waking episodes.  Even though I have heard that you sleep less as a parent as your children get older.  Something about high school, boys (gulp), and actually letting your children grow up and all that nonsense. I’m resolved to just let it be what it is, and I know when we are in our 40’s we might actually sleep through the night again. That being said, if anyone has any tips or tricks on getting a new baby to sleep though the night I would love some suggestions. BUT…if one more person tells me to just be patient I might straight up smack you across the face…consider that a fair warning.

monthly baby photos

FEEDINGS: Can I just take a minute to gush over my chubby baby.  There is seriously nothing better (or cuter) than a happy FAT baby.  This girl LOVES to eat and I love to feed her.  I am getting so excited and antsy to begin feeding her solids.  Another BIG development for Month 4 is that I officially kicked my pump to the curb. Can I get a HALLELUJAH!!!! I’m so much happier now and Reagan is doing fantastic on formula.  Once I had officially committed to exclusively formula feeding I really dug into researching the best options and brands.  I felt a little twinge of mommy guilt at not being a “breastfeeding” mommy and wanted to make sure that she was getting the BEST as a result of my choice to quit pumping.  I’m going to include the NEW formula breakdown in my Month 4 Favorites coming soon but for now HERE is a link to the brand we are using now.

SCHEDULE: Month 4 was a little bit of a “shake up” schedule wise for us.  July has been an insanely BUSY month and any consistency we had went out the door rather quickly.  We had weddings almost every weekend and Baby Girl was up way past her bedtime most nights.  We spent the weekdays trying to recover and regain some semblance of our regular schedule, only to reach Friday and gear up to start all over again. She loved it and has been sleeping well most nights from sheer exhaustion.  She no longer likes to nap on her tummy and I am desperately doing everything I can to get her to stay asleep for longer than 5 minutes during the day.  The weather has been crazy hot lately so we’ve been holding off on walks and staying put in the air conditioning trying not to go stir crazy.  Summertime is just so wonderful though and I hate to waste it.  Reagan is still a bit too young for sunscreen according to our Pediatrician, something about the chemicals etc., and I don’t want to have to drape her in blankets all the time because of the heat.  I’m already so excited for next summer when she will be walking and playing all day long in the sunshine.

Reagan 4 Month Photos #5

MILESTONES & PLAY: Milestones are AWESOME!!! As soon as I think we might never get to a certain phase, then BOOM, we wake up the next day and suddenly little miss is giggling, holding her own bottle, or rolling from tummy to back.

She has learned to lock her chubby little legs and loves standing up while we hold her.  I would not be shocked if she started walking before she crawled.  Like I said earlier, she is a tummy time fanatic now! She loves propping herself up and looking around everywhere.  She is smiling, laughing (baby giggles are the sweetest), and has officially learned to YELL. Not sure that is a positive one but it is beyond funny.  She likes to explore all the possible pitches and Jeffrey and I cannot stop laughing when she is screaming her little head off. She is sitting up like a champ in her bumbo, rolling from front to back, and loves grabbing her toes to pull to her mouth. One of the cutest baby milestones for sure.

Playtime with Reagan is my absolute favorite part of our day together (except maybe bedtime for obvious reasons) and baby girl sure does love to play.  She is completely smitten by the golden girls, Jovie and Roxie, and watches their every move with curiosity and joy.  She busts out the biggest smiles for them and loves to talk (or scream/yell) at them.  She has started putting everything in her mouth, including their puppy ears, and loves to pet and cuddle with them.

Happy 4 Months Reagan Marie!!!

You are a true gift to this world and I pray that you never stop smiling!!!

It is no surprise that I am a lover of Holidays and anything festive.  When I think back to the Fourth last year, I was newly pregnant and in the beginning stages of good ol’ morning sickness…how FUN right??? I was a pouty party because I couldn’t drink, but was still head over heels happy because we were PREGNANT!!! We found out we were expecting over the holiday weekend last year and it was just so much fun.  The Fourth of July is one our favorite holidays and it is very serindipidous that we found out about our sweet baby while celebrating the Red, White, & Blue.

I’m just so excited to see what kind of festive shenanigans we can get into this year.  Miss Reagan is going to be representing the Red, White, & Blue and we will be taking her to the lake for the very first time. I am just so excited.  I know she is still too young to understand what is going on but its so fun to see her little eyes light up when she sees and experiences new things for the first time. SPARKLERS & S’MORES anyone?!?!?!

Hope everyone has an amazing week and it’s definitely time to do some festive 4th of July party planning!

Lovin’ the Fall Life

I am in Fall Heaven around here!!! Halloween was amazing, my belly is getting bigger, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means Black Friday aka Baby Nursery Shopping for us!!! I could not be happier or more excited!! I’ve got everything picked out and ready to go.  Just waiting for the deals and sales to start rolling in for Big Time Baby Savings!!! Let me start by saying that the hubby and I are not Black Friday Shoppers AT ALL!! Its not our thing one bit.  I love the idea of saving money but we are not the type to stand outside in the cold for hours to save $50.  However, we will be taking advantage of the savings this year with Black Friday Sales and also Cyber Monday Sales.  Here are some of the deals and steals that I can’t wait to get my hands on immediately after Thanksgiving.

Black Friday Wish List 2015

J. Hunt Lamp      Tufted Rocking Chair      Sophie the Giraffe Teether     Elephant Teether

Eddie Bauer Langley Crib      Honest Company Diapers       Summer Infant Baby Monitor

I also scored this amazing gather doormat for Thanksgiving/November at Target!!! I love it so much and it was on sale! Double score! I love a festive porch even if I am the only one who ever sees it.  I’m really hoping next year we can host Thanksgiving and Christmas! With having the baby, I want his or hers first holidays to be in our home.  So I see some party hosting in our future!!

gather doormat

We just returned from a trip to Seattle to visit my husbands family.  We had such a good time.  We celebrated his grandfather’s 85th birthday and danced the night away at a wedding for a family friend.  It was so nice to see everyone and relax for the whole week.  The golden girls were all together again and we snapped some adorable photos of them.  They always have a blast together along with the adults.  Plus I finally got to show off my pregnant belly…which is getting HUGE these days.  I’m so glad I finally look pregnant and not just fat.

And finally I have spent my last day of vacation putting up Christmas decorations, finalizing all the plans for our Black Friday / Cyber Monday Shopping haul, catching up on laundry from the trip, and cleaning the house.

It feels so good to be home and to have everything mapped out and ready to go.  This of course means I am almost officially ready for the holidays.  Time to get back into work mode and take the golden girls for a walk around the neighborhood!!! Until next time friends…

Twas’ a very Merry Christmas – Part Three

I spent most of Christmas Eve finishing up my cookie boxes and prepping some food for Christmas Day!!!! The hubby worked for most of the day and then we enjoyed a nice dinner together and watched some Christmas movies.

And finally…Christmas Day arrived.  After weeks of prep the day always flies by, so we spent most of the day soaking up all the fun and enjoying our time together.

We started our morning seeing what “Santa” brought us aka what santa brought the girly puppies.  I swear, they are more spoiled every year then we are…as it should be HAHA!!!

It was absolutely magical and we had so much fun.  We were able to Skype with my in-laws while opening presents, and it was so nice to share in the fun and chat with them on Christmas Day. The girly puppies were so exhausted after all the Christmas fun and had a little cuddle-sesh with all their new toys…so spoiled.

This year I tried a new recipe from a good friend, and made some yummy and healthy quiches for Christmas morning.  The hubby LOVED them and i’ve already made them again since.  I, on the other hand, enjoyed some yummy mimosas while we opened presents.  A Christmas tradition for us…and so yummy!!!!

We had such a magical morning and then it was off to my parents house for Christmas Dinner with the whole family.  We arrived a little early and opened some gifts with my family before guests arrived.  We enjoyed a relaxing night chatting with family followed by an amazing Prime Rib dinner…sooooo good!!!!

My cute parents…love them!!!!

We had such a blast! Given that this will most likely be our last Christmas with the just the two of us, we really tried to enjoy our time together before Little Baby Haguewood comes along at some point!!!

I was also super excited to include my mom in a fun tradition this year for the first time.  Not quite sure exactly how this tradition came about, it just sorta happened, and has been a FUN part of our Christmas ever sense.  The first year Jeffrey and I were dating/engaged, I bought the most adorable Christmas PJ’s for his mom and sister.  Every year sense I have given them Christmas Eve Pajamas that are beyond comfy and cozy!!! It has been so much fun looking back at all the pictures and remembering each Christmas and the endless family memories!!! This year I decide to include my mom in the fun and someday…SOMEDAY…if we have a little baby girl the 3 of us can match!!!  It is such a silly little tradition but I truly enjoy shopping for the cute pajamas each year.  Here is a peak at the last few years…

FIRST YEAR with my sweet MOMMY!!! Love her to pieces, she truly is my best friend!!!

And that is officially ALL there is for our Christmas!!! We truly were spoiled beyond belief and had so much FUN hanging out with all our family and friends!!! Not quite sure where we will be next Christmas but I am already excited and can’t wait.  When I took down all our xmas decor on New Years Day I was quite sad but completely ready to embrace 2015 and all the FUN & JOY that is sure to happen!!! I can’t wait!!! Thank you for bearing with me as I blog about our Christmas in January…we just had so much fun that I couldn’t NOT include all the details!!!!

I hope everyone had an AMAZING weekend!!! I was crazy busy with a BIG bridal fair and had such a blast helping the sweetest of brides all weekend long. It was glorious!!!!

As always, THANK YOU SO MUCH, for reading!

Happy December Friends…FaLaLaLa

Happy December my friends!!!!

I’m so flipping excited for Christmas, New Years, and all things SNOW related!!! Bring on a very white Christmas baby!!!

But first a quick Fall roundup…because once again I got a little behind on blogging!!! I’ve definitely been marching to my own beat lately and blogging just wasn’t part of the schedule!!!

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since mid-November when we were celebrating Miss Jovie’s 5th birthday. I didn’t even cover our Halloween festivities…

So here is a quick recap of all things Halloween and Thanksgiving related with a few of my favorite Football ramblings sprinkled in.

– October 31, 2014 –

As much as I love Thanksgiving & Christmas, i’m always a little sad the day after Halloween. It truly is one of my all-time favorite holidays and I plan our costumes all year long.   This year I searched and searched for an awesome family costume!!! Last years SuperFamily was one of my absolute favorites and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to top it.

So keeping with the tutu theme from last year…I opted for a fun fairytale costume…

The 3 Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf

We had such a blast.  I intentionally left all our lights off so we wouldn’t get any trick-or-treaters and we hit the town with some good friends in our costumes.  As always, I made our costumes and I just want to point out that I AM SO HAPPY with how they turned out.  Although the 2 biggest challenges were finding a freakin’ pair of light pink leggings to wear under my tutu AND making the hubby’s wolf hood by hand.  It was a nice challenge but something I won’t be attempting again!!!

– November 27, 2014 –

This year was incredibly quiet for us over the Thanksgiving holiday. We are getting to that age where families are beginning to spread out and start their own traditions etc.  That means smaller family gatherings, until of course we start our own family. YAY! YAY! YAY!

I was SOOOOOOOO excited to try out a new Thanksgiving Cupcake recipe this year…

INTRODUCING the worlds cutest Pie Inspired Cupcakes…in cute packaging of course!!!! I’m in love…

Cherry Pie Cupcakes

Apple Pie Cupcakes

I had such a blast passing these beauties out to good friends and family! I’m so incredibly thankful for each and everyone of them!!!!

We started our morning with a wonderful and chilly walk with the golden girls. It was such a gorgeous morning and although it was COLD the sun was shining!!!!

The hubby visited some friends and I watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  We enjoyed an absolutely amazing dinner with my parents, a few aunts and cousins, and my sweet grandfather.  It was super chill and completely wonderful…and you know there were yummy Mimosas involved so I was a HAPPY girl.

We really missed our golden girls however, so we decided to head home early this year.  We curled up in some comfy pajamas, gave lots of Thanksgiving kisses to the girls, and watched our AMAZING Seattle Seahawks destroy the San Fransisco 49ers.  Just one more reason to be extra Thankful this year!!! My friends…it was an absolutely glorious WIN and we were cheering the whole game. GO HAWKS!!

Screen Shot 2014-12-07 at 8.39.10 PM

We have so many reasons to be Thankful this year…way to many to count.  So i’ll be simple and give a shoutout to all our Friends and Family…WE LOVE YOU and are so incredibly thankful for the endless love and support we receive from you all on a regular basis. Not just on thanksgiving, but all year long.

As each year passes, I begin to see the value of our loved ones more and more, and the “stuff” of this life fades into the background. “Stuff” is meaningless and relationships are KEY.  I would like to spend my time investing in people and relationships.

With that, i’m going to wrap some Christmas gifts and put another sprig of Mistletoe up in our house…any excuse to get some “extra” kisses from my amazing hubby this time of year.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, a Happy Holiday, and Happy “Everything!!!!!”

Xo Xo & CHEERS Friends,

It’s all about the Jovie dog…

On Tuesday, November 11th we celebrated our sweet dog Jovie’s 5th Birthday!!!!

She is such a darling and we have so much love for this little baby.  My hubby received Jovie as a birthday gift 5 years ago and she has been his loving companion ever sense.  These two are simply inseparable.  Every time the hubby has to go on a business trip, Jovie patiently waits for him to come home. She was one of the CUTEST golden puppies I have ever seen.

When Jeffrey and I got married in 2011, I had the honor of becoming this little girls “mommy” and she is just as precious now as she was then. We all look like babies in this picture.

She loves going to Grandma and Grandpa’s lake house and jumping off the dock more than anything else. She truly is a water dog and her “Happy Place” is wherever she can swim and swim and swim.

She puts up with so many of my holiday shenanigans including yearly Halloween costumes, bunny ears for Easter, and Christmas scarves for the holidays.

This angel has celebrated so many milestones with our family and now we are excited to celebrate HER!!!

In the Spring we found out Jovie had a malignant tumor in her leg.  We were simply devastated.  We knew we weren’t ready to say goodbye to our baby and it wasn’t quite her time yet.  So… after 2 surgeries, several weeks in a full leg cast, and 100lb. mommy carrying 65lb. Jovie up and down the stairs multiple times a day, we FINALLY received the all clear and a clean bill of health!!! Our baby was back and her inner LIGHT was shinning brighter than ever!!!! We added a third Cancer Survivor to our family and CELEBRATED!!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Love Mommy and Daddy!!!!!

And YES, I do LOVE my animals enough to write a whole freakin’ blog post just about them!!!!

Kiss your babies tonight and love on them!!!!

Summer Recap – Part 2 “The Bridal Party Olympics”

I’m soooooo excited to share all the details about the awesome Bachelorette Weekend we threw for my gorgeous sister-in-law Jessie!!! Over the 4th of July weekend we had a big celebration with a bunch of friends and family celebrating the soon-to-be newlyweds,  Jessie and Joshua! Bridesmaids and Groomsmen converged on the lake house for a whole weekend full of festivities topped off with a beautiful and rustic Bridal Shower!!!

We kicked off the long weekend with a fun & festive 4th of July celebration.  To read all the details from my Summer Recap – Part 1 “Our 4th of July” click HERE!

Next up my fellow Co-Mohs, short for Co-Maids of Honor, planned a kick-ass joint Bachelorette & Bachelor Party, minus the stripers and penius themed everything. Totally tacky and not our style at all. We opted for something slightly more tasteful and went for a fun Bridal Party Olympics themed weekend, a twist on the common Beer Olympics. The weekend was full of “TEAM BRIDE” vs “TEAM GROOM” events, competitions, party decor and coordinated outfits.

To get started we needed a fun & festive “Scoreboard” to keep track of the winners and the losers!  In true “Olympic” style the winning team was given a trophy!!! In honor of the Bride and Groom, we joined their 2 last names and called our Olympics “The Ranwood Games.” Cue the traditional olympic music…

We put together these awesome “Bachelorette Party Weekend” Survival Bags for all the girls! I’ll be sure to do a small tutorial on how I made these fab little packs.  They were awesome!!!

We kicked off the “Ranwood Games” with a traditional Beer Pong Tournament followed by a fun 3-Legged Race.  We creatively used blue and pink blow up kiddie rings for our race. Oh yea, we are just awesome like that!! Sorry about the blurry video quality…

Excited to report that TEAM BRIDE won the 3-legged race!

Next up we had a series of Minute-to-Win-It Games thanks to my awesome co-MOH, Kristen!!! You rock!!! Again, sorry about the blurry video quality…

And last, for the ultimate WIN of the Ranwood Games, we had a totally fun Relay Race complete with color coordinated batons. It was a blast and TEAM GROOM beat us by only seconds on the human pyramid!!! I absolutely LOVE all the goofy girly golden retrievers running around after us!!!

Ultimately the whole day was an absolute SUCCESS and most importantly, everyone had so much fun!!! The whole weekend was such a blast and we all made fabulous memories! It was also a fantastic way to get the whole Bridal Party together as a meet & greet before the wedding!!!

Summer Recap – Part 1 “Our 4th of July”

Well Summer is wrapping up and Fall is right around the corner, as in next week!!! My Halloween loving heart is singing and i’ve got Halloween costumes and Football on the brain.  BUT we’ve got a few nice days left of Sweet Summertime and that means a few quick Summer Recaps.  Our Summer was so jammed packed with activities and festivities that I wasn’t able to blog normally throughout the months.  I decided to condense our Summer Fun into 3 recaps starting with our 4th of July!!!

We are big time American Lovin’ Patriots in this house and that means the 4th of July isn’t just our Nations Birthday, but it is THE BEST HOLIDAY of the summer!!!! America, the lake, s’mores, fireworks; whats not to love?!?!?! We typically spend our 4th at either my parents lake house or my husbands family lake house!  This year was EXTRA special in that we threw my sister-in-law, Jessie, her Bachelorette Party & Bridal Shower at the lake house with all her friends and family.  We had a good time to say the least, such a fun weekend!!! 🙂 More details to come on those festivities in the next recap.

My day started with a festive and fun 4th of July Chalkboard!!!! No holiday would be complete in my book without one of these beauties!!!

Next up we enjoyed the beautiful weather and took advantage by hanging out together and showing our festive side by dressing up, the puppies included. Cue the absolutely adorable Red, White, and Blue swimsuits!!!

The boys cracked us up with their matching RED board shorts, completely accidentally by the way. 🙂

The girly goldens weren’t having it however, they hated the fun 4th of July headbands we put on them! They seriously need an attitude adjustment when it comes to Americas Birthday!!!! 🙂

We enjoyed the 2nd Annual Haguewood Water Sports Day with a little tubing and fun water activities! Here is my hubby reliving his glory days as a Pro-Tuber…he likes to go fast and can do so many jumps and fun tricks.  Look at how cute he is…I just love him so much 🙂

Next up we have the girls.  We are significantly less coordinated when it comes to tubing, but we had a good time!

Every year all the folks vacationing around the lake will do a festive 4th of July boat parade!!! Totally festive and right up my alley.  The boys were feeling very patriotic and represented our boat well.

We spent the rest of the day eating lots of yummy and tasty oysters, a 4th of July tradition in our family,  and taking cute and goofy photos.

As the sun went down around the lake we watched the gorgeous sunset, cooked up some absolutely FAB s’mores in my S’mores Bar, and enjoyed the endless hours of fireworks going off around us.  Such a gorgeous and beautiful day.

CHEERS to all the fun and festive memories that were made during the Summer of 2014. I’m already looking forward to next summer!!! A few more recaps to come and then we can dive into ALL things FALL!! Whoop Whoop!

I’m Back!!!!

I’m Back Ya’ll 🙂

I feel like i’m constantly cycling through phases where I’m up for blogging, and then sometimes… not so much. It’s all good…i’m learning to ROLL with life these days!

We’ve had a whirlwind few months here in the Haguewood Household with some big family changes and major updates to fill you in on.  Lots of good changes and a few that have really tested our bond and strength as a family.  But, there is always a silver lining, and thankfully we’ve made it over the hump and we are back on track.

photo 1-5

These two gorgeous ladies have really kept us on our toes lately.

Our 4 1/2 year old Golden, Jovie – on the left in this photo, recently had surgery to have a tumor removed from her elbow. We actually discovered the tumor when my hubby’s parents were in town for his SuperHero birthday party.  We quickly hit up the vet and received a diagnosis of an aggressive type of cancer called histiocytic sarcoma. We scheduled surgery for the next day and had that BAD boy removed from our precious baby.  Lots of antibiotics, 2 surgeries, and 8 weeks in a full leg cast later…we have our Jovie dog back and in much better spirits! It has been an emotional time for us as a family, and it really tested our resilience and ability to push through the fear of losing one of our babies.

She is still the happiest and brightest little dog in the world!!! Love her so much!!!

She was all kinds of “stylish” with a new bandage each week.

And of course she had her little sister, Roxie, by her side week in and week out. Pretty sure Jov was getting all kinds of irritated with Roxie, but in the end she helped bring some element of “normalcy” back to our lives. Plus they are just soooo adorable hanging out together. I can’t get over how much they look alike in this photo!

In other exciting news, my beautiful sister in law Jessie is getting married in August. We are so pumped for another Haguewood Wedding.  Planning and Maid of Honor duties have kept me busy busy busy over the last 6 weeks.  We hosted a big Bachelorette Bash & Bridal Shower for the lovely Bride to Be over the 4th of July weekend which was simply EPIC! All the details coming soon for sure…

For now, i’m just glad to be back!! I’ve really missed blogging but wasn’t feeling motivated one bit! My Etsy Shop is also is desperate need of some attention, so please watch for some new prints coming soon!! I promise to be more diligent when it comes to blogging etc. and i’ve got some fun stuff planned for DIY tutorials.  I also need to play catch up on some past projects and post the tutorials.  I’ve got everything laid out and ready to go, I just need to sit down and bust them out.

In the meantime I’m heading back to work which is fantastic, and my sweet hubby is continuing to build up our business.  Lots of exciting things ahead for the summer and of course I already have a football countdown going on my phone, whoop whoop. “GO HAWKS”

The girly dogs need to have a couple of rest days after our big fourth of july bash and I could use a few myself.  Time to clean my house and catch up on some laundry!!! Our 3-year wedding anniversary is coming up at the end of the month and i’m really excited. Lots of things coming up. Time to put my big girl panties on and LIVE THIS LIFE to the fullest!

On Cloud Nine from Puppy Love

Well I have quite a few updates to share today. And some very exciting news!!!!

First up on my list I would like to point out that we are well into Fall and I have been totally in my element! I love rocking the boots, leggings, and comfy sweaters! The air is crisp and I am in HEAVEN!!!!

I know it was a complete shock to everyone that I am a football fan!!! 🙂

Next up on the list, my wonderful hubby has returned from a long business trip and is finally settling in.  I was rocking the single life and am not ashamed to admit that I missed him like crazy.  I’m completely used to living alone and enjoyed some time in my college years where I lived by myself. It was a wonderful time and I am completely thankful for the independence I gained. BUT, when you are around someone everyday and used to waking up next to them it throws your routine off a bit when suddenly they aren’t there anymore.  Adjustment is part of the game in marriage and i’m happy that my hubby is home.

We, meaning me and our animals HAHA, had some crazy times while he was out of town. Jovie wasn’t feeling super well Saturday night so I ended up taking her to the emergency vet clinic on Sunday morning.  Turns out she had an ulceration on her right eye and was in quite a bit of pain. There is seriously nothing worse then seeing an animal in pain for me and it just broke my heart to know that she was hurting.  We got her some pain meds and drops for her eyes and set up an appointment with an ophthalmologist for the next day.  He confirmed that she had the ulceration and they did surgery the same day. She was completely comatose the next few days.

Daddy came home Wednesday afternoon and everyone was busy getting settled in.

Thursday brought with it some very exciting news.  We found out about 6 weeks ago that the breeder that we got Jovie from had a litter of puppies.  We had to jump on the wagon super quickly and snagged one up.  They were only 3 weeks old when we first visited them!!!

They were SO TINY and super cute!!!!

Next came five agonizing weeks of waiting until we could scoop her up and bring her home.

I had my books and reading schedule all lined out. Puppy Prepping was is FULL swing.  I have a lot of learning to do when it comes to raising a dog. We hit up Petco and did a quick shopping spree for the new little miss. We actually did really good as I am the queen of couponing and bargain shopping! Go Us!!!!

The whole day drug by and we both couldn’t wait for work to be finished. It finally arrived and we headed to the breeder to get our new little baby!!!

Meet Roxie Haguewood!!!!

We are just obsessed with her.  We are officially  one week in as of Friday night and  we are finally starting to settle in a bit.  The first couple of days were an adjustment period for everyone in our house. Things are beginning to settle down and we are starting to put a routine together. We are using a crate training method which worked wonders for our dog Jovie.  My husband keeps telling me that there is a method to the madness and we simply need to stick with it.  We have her down to a pretty good schedule with a few exceptions here and there.

6am to 9pm we use this schedule to an absolute tee:

6am – Out to do business right away, play for 20 min, back out to do business again, back in the crate

8:30am – Out to do business, play for 20 min, breakfast time, back out to do business, back in the crate

10:30am – Out to do business right away, play for 20 min, back out to do business again, back in the crate

12:30pm – Out to do business, play for 20 min, lunch time, back out to do business, back in the crate

2:30am – Out to do business, play for 20 min, back out to do business, back in the crate

Repeat at 4:30pm

7:30pm – Out to do business, play for 20 min, dinner time, back out to do business, back in the crate

9pm – Out to do business, play for 20 min, back out to do business, back in the crate for bedtime

12:30am – Out to do business, back in the crate

4:30am – Out to do business, back in the crate

We are gradually trying to build up her bladder tolerance. Hopefully in week 2 we can increase her time in her crate during the day to 3 hours as well as at night to 4 hours! Woo hoo for not waking up every 2 hours in the middle of the night! We did that the first couple of days and it was definitely a shock to the system.  But every time we woke up and saw her adorable little face it didn’t matter anymore! Love her!!!

We are going to start her training in a few weeks and I am really looking forward to it.  This is mommy training as well as  Roxie Dog Training!

More updates to come soon!
