Our Springtime Maternity Photoshoot

Maternity photos feel like a lifetime ago.  Way back when we were a family of three, we had a few maternity photos snapped around 36 weeks.  Its so crazy for me to imagine our little guy all snug and tucked away in my belly.  We also had no idea that we would soon have a perfect little boy to complete our family.  Theres nothing like having a big belly and some gorgeous maternity photos to capture the moment in time.

We had photos taken for our first pregnancy with Reagan in January of 2016 at a local park by our home.  I immediately fell in love with them and will treasure them always.  To check out “Our Wintery Maternity Photoshoot” click HERE.

I was so excited to snap a Spring version for my second pregnancy. We chose the same local park and the exact same location.  I love the contrast between the Winter landscape from our first shoot and the beautiful Spring look from the second.  It seemed special and sentimental to be pregnant again and have the photos taken in the same location.  We walked the same path and literally stood in front of the same bushes, trees, and park bench for both shoots.

I am so in love with this little family of ours and even more in love with my sweet Jackson James boy who was still all cozy in my huge belly.

The blooming lilac trees were the perfect backdrop and our amazing photographer Jenn, from Jenn Elliott Photography, completely captured the vintage and natural look I was going for.  I have never been a fan of super staged pictures and love that our shoots are always natural and easy.  We literally just walk around laughing and goofing off together while she snaps away.  This is what we would be doing anyway so it seems fitting to be comfortable and relaxed.

I recycled the Rachel Pally maxi dress I wore to Reagan’s first birthday party and did my own hair and makeup.  I also love that I don’t look like a whale in most of the photos. At 36 weeks pregnant I was super worried that I would balloon out.  We did photos at 31 weeks for our first pregnancy and there is a noticeable difference in my belly size.  Reagan’s outfit is from, details below, and is currently on SALE!!! WooHoo.

Again, being pregnant feels like a lifetime ago.  Life with our sweet Jackson James is awesome, stressful, and so very beautiful.  Some days it feels like there isn’t enough love to go around and then something shifts and everything falls into place. We are beginning to sleep a little more, fall into a solid routine, and are remembering to cherish the small crazy moments. Everyone is getting there love quota each day, including Mommy and Daddy, and general happiness seems inevitable.

I’m excited to share Jackson’s newborn photos and birth story next!!!!!

Baby Haguewood #2 – 29 Weeks

week 29 pregnancy chalkboard

How far along? 29 WEEKS!!!!

Total weight gain/loss: +18lbs. Averaging about a pound per week and hopefully it stays that way.  I’ve been walking when I can to stay active and keep the baby weight off.  I’ve hit that point in my pregnancy where i’m uncomfortable all the time and its just an uphill climb from here.  Sticking it out, remembering why i’m hurting, and how much I love the sweet little baby already keeps my mind in check.  In the end, its all worth it.  Funny how you forget the challenges the third trimester brings. I suppose thats a good thing!

Maternity clothes? YEP! Just ordered some more of my favorite maternity leggings and a capri version to get me through the warmer summer months that are coming.  The two pairs I have are starting to get worn out and has them on sale for 40% off.  YES PLEASE.  Even if your not pregnant, these are the best leggings I have ever worn! I’m super pumped to try the capri version.

Stretch marks? Nope! I’ve upped my moisturizing game.  Slathering on the Mustela Cream and a basic CocoaButter Lotion every chance I get.

Sleep: We are surviving.  Sleep doesn’t exists anymore.  But that will be the norm once Baby arrives anyway. I am able to lay down and nap or at least put my feet up to prevent swelling when Reagan goes down.  Other than that, we are in survival mode.  I’m honestly trying to have a better mindset and attitude about it then that.  Its all mental at this point and each day that i’m uncomfortable means baby is getting one more day of putting weight on and growth and development in my belly.  That in itself is worth every second of being uncomfortable.  ***Wondering how many effin’ times i’ve typed the word “uncomfortable” in this post.  This must be the essence of pregnancy at this point in the third trimester.

Best moment this week: I finished up my first deep cleaning project successfully and was able to get five Instant Pot Chicken Enchilada freezer meals put away for when the baby arrives. To read the post and get the recipe click HERE! I wasn’t sure I would actually accomplish my goal of doing these tasks, but i’m glad I toughed it out.  It felt so good to cross this off my master “Baby To Do List.”

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: SWELLING!!!! EVERYWHERE!!!! I don’t remember having this much swelling at this point in my last pregnancy, but everything I read says it is completely normal.  I have no history of toxemia or preeclampsia and they check me every time I go to the doctor.  SO…i’m assuming its just normal swelling and pregnancy symptoms at this point.  I’m trying to stay off my feet as much as possible and will continue to keep an eye on it.

Miss Anything? Not today. I’m simply trying to live in the moment and enjoy the belly I have.  I really do love seeing my pregnant belly in the mirror and i’m trying to soak up the feelings and kicks of baby moving around.

Movement: Baby is active in there for sure. I started doing the kick counts this week just to make sure that everything is consistent and strong.

Food cravings: Pink Lady apples and ice water!!! I’m thirsty all the time and can’t get enough!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling GREAT!!!!

Symptoms: STILL feeling all the feels.

Have you started to show yet: Yep, feeling BIG for sure. And puffy! 🙁

Gender prediction: I’m officially switching to team BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? Out. Reagan thinks its very amusing to push my belly button and say “Ba Ba.” So cute watching her little brain try and process why Mommy is looking funny these days.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but super emotional these days. Random outbursts and uncontrollable crying are slowly sneaking their way into my life.  I know its hormone related and usually occurs around the same time of day. 5pm is the witching hour and I can mentally prepare and work to calm myself and keep stress triggers at a minimum.  A HOT epsom salt and lavender bath usually does the trick.

Looking forward to: Being 30 weeks and hitting single digits in terms of weeks to go.

xoxo Friends,

Baby Haguewood – 37 Weeks

Baby Haguewood - 37 Weeks

How far along?  37 Weeks 6 Days!! I’m officially caught up friends!!!!

Total weight gain/loss: +26lbs. Still staying steady at this weight but the baby is definitely getting bigger in there.

Maternity clothes? YES.  Mostly any loose fitting yoga pants/leggings and tops these days.  I’m officially done working until the little babe arrives so i’m sorta in comfy clothes permanently nowadays.

The BEST EVER Rosie Pope Maternity Leggings!!!!!

Rosie Pope Maternity Leggings

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Sleeping a little better now.  I take lots of naps so i’m able to get the sleep I need even if its not at night.

Best moment this week: My belly is getting really big.  I try and rub my belly every night and give the baby some extra love.  I know once the little one arrives I will love him/her endlessly but right now its kinda FUN to just love them all tiny and still growing in my belly.  These are the moments i’m trying to soak up because I know the baby will be here before I know it and I will miss being pregnant and having my big round belly.

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Had a few random pregnancy related complications pop up out of nowhere and I’m feeling a little stressed and isolated to my bed.  I need to relax and stay resting in order to get better but all I want to do is move around and keep checking things off my to do list.

Miss Anything? I could really go for an icy margarita this week.  There has been lots of tears and uncomfortableness/pain this week and I would give anything to relax and feel normal for five minutes.  I’ll take some salty chips and salsa while we’re at it with my marg.

Movement: Baby is still moving all the time but is definitely getting a wee bit cramped.

Food cravings: Nothing specific, just feeling hungry ALL THE TIME.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Symptoms: Same old, Same old.

Have you started to show yet: Yes, but people seem shocked when I tell them we are about two weeks away from d-day.  They can’t believe how small and good I look. I on the other hand feel like a WHALE, a waddling whale at that. I walked around the Target the other day and thought I was going to pass out from exhaustion and being winded.  Apparently this is the only form of exercise i’m capable of these days.  The hubby and I did do some deep cleaning for a few hours on Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised that I felt energized and strong through the whole thing.

Gender prediction: Only 2 more weeks and we’ll finally know what Little Baby Haguewood will be.  So Excited!!!

Labor Signs: Nada

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Feeling pretty darn moody this week but happy to be almost done!!!!!

Looking forward to: Week 38 and my parents coming home from Chile.  We were super nervous that they might miss the birth but baby is pretty content in my belly and there is no risk of he/she coming early. We have a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday to see if we are making any positive progress towards Labor and Delivery.

xoxo Friends,

Baby Haguewood – 36 Weeks

Baby Haguewood - 36 Weeks

How far along?  36 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +26lbs. Staying steady at this weight for now.

Maternity clothes? YES, even these are really not fitting that well anymore!

Stretch marks? Nope. No stretch marks to report at this time. My tummy is holding on for dear life.

Sleep: This is pretty much non-existent. I’ve decided to embrace the struggle and say its practice for when the baby arrives.  It truly is a good thing in a way because my body is already acclimated to NO SLEEP and there will be less of a shock to my system for hourly feedings.

Best moment this week: We finally hit the 4 week countdown!

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Nothing bad. Everything is good.

Miss Anything? Sleeping and eating without feeling like a whale. I’m starting to get tired of being preggers. I also want my figure and non-chubby pregnant face back…like NOW!!! Can’t wait to start working out again.

Movement: Big rolls and waves of movement.  At our weekly checkup the baby was moving so much and the sweet doctor was talking to the baby.  He/She kept kicking the doctor during the exam.  It was cute and almost made me cry.

Food cravings: Cherry Garcia Ice Cream and Strawberry Popsicles…not contributing positively to the face weight gain.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada

Symptoms: Everything…I feel like crying and need to get over myself. I’m growing a human and its hard. But what I am creating is so much bigger than me or the pain and constant uncomfortableness.

Have you started to show yet: YEP

Gender prediction: Still thinking boy but I can’t wait to deliver so we finally know what our little Gummy Bear is.  Also I can’t stop drooling over all the adorable Easter baby clothes and am so excited for Baby’s First Official Holiday.  Of course if baby comes by the due date then we would be celebrating our Irish roots and celebrating St. Patricks Day!

Labor Signs: Nothing but Braxton Hicks Contractions and lots of pressure!!! My body is definitely getting ready to have a little baby. So excited!!!!

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding rings on or off? On, but my poor little feet are swollen.

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!

Looking forward to: Meeting out little one. The bags are packed, our birth plan is written, and the nursery is ready to go.

xoxo Friends,

Baby Haguewood – 35 Weeks

Baby Haguewood - 35 Weeks

* Maternity Jeans – HERE *

How far along?  35 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +26lbs.

Maternity clothes? YES, Citizens of Humanity Maternity Jeans

Stretch marks? Nope. But I thought I saw a purple line on my leg the other morning and about DIED. Turns out it was just a little tiny bruise that has now gone away.

Sleep: Same old, same old…wishing, and hoping, and praying…for MORE SLEEP!!!

Best moment this week: On Saturday, February 13th we celebrated 1 month until Baby H’s due date.  Everything feels super real and we are just so ready to have our little baby.  I feel like my pregnancy has flown by so fast, at times way too fast, and then out of nowhere everything moved into super slow motion.

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: I feel so uncomfortable all the time and it is getting old.  No sleep, back pain, and just general uncomfortableness…i’m over it.  I’ll take the sweet baby any day now.

Miss Anything? Curling up in a ball, fully stretching out, and moving around without grunting or moaning.

Movement: Baby is getting big in my belly so movement has changed a bit. Mostly wiggles and rolling motions at this point. Every once in awhile Baby can get a big kick or jab in there still.

Food cravings: Grapefruit, Pretzels, Bananas, and Vanilla Yogurt! YUMMY!!!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada.  Just over the back pain.

Symptoms: Lack of sleep, general immobility, stiffness, back pain, and majorly uncomfortable Braxton Hicks contractions.

Have you started to show yet: YES

Gender prediction: Still thinking BOY…but all the itty bitty girl clothes are so sweet and adorable.

Labor Signs: Nothing serious, but the Braxton Hicks contractions are in full swing.

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: So, so, so, HAPPY!!!!

Looking forward to: Delivery Day…I never thought I would be saying that because of the major pain factor, but at this point I would take the concentrated pain over the long drawn out weeks of pain and no sleep.

xoxo Friends,

Baby Haguewood – 34 Weeks

34 Weeks - Website

***Sorry about the blurry photo this week***

How far along?  34 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: + 24lbs. (Getting closer to that 25lb. minimum haha)

Maternity clothes? YES

Stretch marks? None to report at this time…THANK YOU GOD!!! SERIOUSLY, THANK YOU!

Sleep: Generally YUCKY!!! I’m tracking around 3-4 hours a night and it is really starting to show.  I feel like the wheels are falling off the bus a bit and yet i’ve totally got this shit handled.  Pregnancy is a strange thing.  I’m super appreciative and have a BIG shout out to my hubby who has been so wonderful at helping me to feel grounded and in control.  He is calm and cool through this whole process and I am so thankful and grateful for him. Love you babe!!!! ***Now i’ll know if you actually read my posts or not….muahhhahhhha***

Best moment this week: We had our first Birthing Class which was awesome and SUPER overwhelming at the same time.  I was really excited to go and then once we started getting into the meat of it I was crazy paranoid and overwhelmed by all the information.  When we got home I was super anxious.  Like super super anxious.  I was really hoping that the classes would make me feel calm and informed about labor…NOPE…just anxious at this point.  I need some time to process all the information and then I know i’ll feel better and prepared about giving birth.

Have you told family and friends? Yep!

Worst moment this week: Superbowl 50 is on Sunday and i’m really sad that I can’t let loose and have fun…aka…enjoy a few adult beverages. Shocking right….

Miss Anything? Sleeping, Drinking, and curling up into a ball on the couch to relax.  The little things in life we take for granted.

Food cravings: GUMMY BEARS…YUM!!! And randomly couldn’t control myself and stopped to get a mcflurry from McDonalds.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling good but I do need to get the “Sweets” under control ASAP!!!

Symptoms: Major BACK PAIN this week.  I’ve kinda just given up on sitting down and relaxing at all.  Every time I sit my back will get super achy.  I’m on the lookout for back labor starting just in case.  Right now it has stayed pretty high and in one spot. Still not sleeping but I haven’t had any charlie horse cramps at all this week. YAY!

Have you started to show yet: YES, strangers look at me funny AND people want to touch my belly all the time. Please don’t unless I know you. Thanks.

Gender prediction: I’m guessing Boy and the hubby has officially spoken up and is saying Girl!!!! Oh, and super exciting, we officially have NAMES picked out for each gender.  One more thing to cross off the list.

Labor Signs: Nothing at this point.  But thanks to our first Birthing Class I now know what to look for when it comes to pre-term labor signs.  Hubby is on the lookout for these as well just in case i’m a little off from exhaustion and pregnancy brain.

Belly Button in or out? OUT and hubby commented on how strange it is looking these days.  Yep, strange is an understatement.

Wedding rings on or off? On but I have started to notice some swelling in my feet. Not really 100% sure at this point but they just look a little off…along with the rest of me.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but I did have my first “I’m pregnant and super fat” meltdown in my car the other day.  I know i’m pregnant and the weight gain is a natural and healthy side effect of the little bundle growing inside of me.  It is more frustrating that I don’t feel like myself one bit and I don’t feel super healthy.  I get winded all the time and miss having my natural energy and workout high’s.  Everything is temporary and i’m already so pumped and motivated to get back to my routine post-baby.

Looking forward to: Finishing the Nursery so I can do a whole post on our adorable little baby room.  Hubby made a comment the other day about how I managed to get my “dream nursery” and I am so happy and thankful.  It is just beautiful and I can’t wait to raise a little human being in there.

xoxo Friends,
